Kb27 Supersonic March 17, 2017 Share March 17, 2017 I am so confused ... Studies say coffee is good for heart. Studies say tea is good for brain. So should I :- 1. drink one cup of coffee in the morning and one cup of tea in the afternoon 2. drink one cup of tea in the morning and one cup of coffee in the afternoon 3. drink 2 cups of yuan yang NUS, please conduct another study ... coffee and tea are both good. but it's the sugar that's probably the killer, which they neglect to mention.
Newbie26 Hypersonic March 17, 2017 Share March 17, 2017 Garlic is good for your Health If you are Healthy, you can do and imagine anything How about my 2 cloves of raw garlic consume everyday in empty stomach?Izzzit good for tiger or Thai gal's? Studies only apply to the general cohorts and usually selected groups of people whom they think can get the best results But individually everyone of us are different So cannot use study findings as the goldstandard , read their fine prints Yes, sometimes a bit of information overload from all these studies. We just have to exercise judgement to extract the useful information for ourselves and consume in moderation.

Neutrino Supercharged March 20, 2017 Share March 20, 2017 My mil was diagnosed with dementia about 15 years ago after she had the second of her two strokes. My sil bought some 46 piece jigsaw puzzles which initially my mil didn't want to do as there was no finished picture she could follow. But my wife continued to coax my mil and she got interested in jigsaws and still 15 years later she spends two hours every afternoon doing them. Takes between 7min and 15 min to complete. And we believe that the jigsaws have managed to slow down her dementia such that 15 years later it is not much worse now than it was then.

serenade 6th Gear March 20, 2017 Share March 20, 2017 There are 2 main types of dementia. Alzheimer's (50%) and Vascular (40%). Alzheimer's dementia is due to continuous death of brain cells due to high stress or mental activity. As more and more cells die, the patients condition deteriorates as the brain shrinks physically. First memory suffers, then mobility and senses are lost. Eventually leads to death when brain cannot control the heart and breathing functions. Alzheimer's dementia is incurable, but the rate of cell death can be slowed by activity. Vascular dementia is caused by strokes or mini strokes. By maintaining activity and health parameters like weight, cholesterol, blood pressure and being active to reduce chance of strokes, this can be prevented. Even if a stroke hits that affects memory, taking active steps going forward can delay dementia worsening for a long while. In short reduce stress and get active to delay onset of alzheimer's dementia. 50% of us will suffer from it if we live past 85!

We've bought so many jigsaws over the years that we can change regularly. She's very competitive doing them. We put a clock in front of her and time her. Or we challenge her to do them in one on ones. ↡ Advertisement
