serenade 6th Gear March 25, 2017 Share March 25, 2017 RWD Sweden "Tank". It's a transversely mounted engine FWD S70/850. Unusual in that the engine had 5 cylinders and 20V in total. Very nice drive with 2 turbo models, light pressure, and turbo. Drove up countless times on NS highway and had a blast with it on the small winding roads of Johore as the engine was punchy and responsive. Only problem was the high maintenance from the 8th year onwards. Parts kept on breaking even though always park in shade. Every month go SM Motors for repair. Each time go workshop costs at least $1k. Last straw was the driver's door hinge broke. Scrapped the car before 9th year, bought a Subaru Legacy Turbo. Never went back to buying a Volvo.
