Dna_engine 3rd Gear March 27, 2012 Share March 27, 2012 So that mean kumho has no plant in China,.but rather they sub contract out their products? Not sure about the plant in China but you can also find Kumho SV308 if you google it. The manufacturer name is Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Co. and they are like top 10 tyre manufacturer globally. I had a serious doubt about Westlake tyres and did quite a bit of search before I decided to purchase it. So far no regrets but my friends are always doubtful about China products, so none of them wanted to try this tyre. ↡ Advertisement

Ag123 Neutral Newbie July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 (edited) think for tyres the most confusing problem is that for the same brand there are tons of different makes/series and even then some of them of the same make in different countries seem like found the china web for west lake tyres http://www.bloomberg.com/quote/HARUBZ:CH/profile they have 2 chinese webs a flashy 1 for their premium tyres http://www.chaoyang.com/productsdesc.php?cat_id=1 and a industrial page http://www.hzygxj.com/doce/gsjj.htm most people i guess got routed here: http://www.westlaketire.com/ due to the english searches, this probably represent a different set of products targeted to different countries and about tyre makes, on the 'industrial' page u see their products for 'solid' tyres, most likely for tractors if u use 'solid' tyre (meant for tractors) for sports car probably end up with *lousy grip* at high speeds :p lol still evaluating, researching, as cheap tyre is good, but if cheap compromise safety then it probably defeats the purpose but i agree that the appropriate tyres make a difference in *safety*, currently using bridgestone turnaza ar10 and is happy with its performance for 2 years. i guess most pple stick with the 'branded' 1s e.g. Michelin, Bridgestone etc despite paying some rather steep premium in some ways as it simply the search, but the premium can be pricy Edited July 20, 2013 by Ag123
Jamomatt 2nd Gear July 20, 2013 Share July 20, 2013 If plan for normal use might as well spend more lah. But if the purpose is to burn them and lose traction these are great choices.

Tiger1 6th Gear July 21, 2013 Share July 21, 2013 You need to drive very carefully using those tyres. If not, you might drive into west lake. Go buy a more reliable and proven brand la. $100 dif but peace of mind right? Tyres are the only palm size bet you and the road.
