I have an existing number plate, if some one wants to buy it, do i get a replacement reg number from LTA, does it costs to get the replacement number? I know the buyer will bear the transfer fees $321 of my old number.

Searched on LTA's website, FAQ, such situation on veh number swaping not stated.

For your case:

Both parties have to pay $1000 each.

Whether the buyer have a brand new computer generated number or his existing number, he will need to pay $1000 transfer fee to LTA. And for you, you also need to pay $1000 to LTA for your "new" number. This is call swaping between 2 different car owners.

Other case:

You bought a new car and want to transfer your existing old car number to your new car, just pay $100 (retain fee)

and your old car which still need a number, recevie the new number from your new car, pay $300 (transfer fee under same owner)

of course, if you scrap your old car, you don't have to pay this $300.

So if I don't like my current number. How can I get a new random generated number?

Will the random new number registration be free(obviously not, if yes, people will be changing like changing condoms)

So how much will it cost metro change another new number, as allocated by LTA system?

The only way you can get a random new number is to buy a NEW car and the number will be given to you FREE.

If you don't like you old car number, you can BUY from other owner OR buy (rather say bid) from LTA.

You can change your number every day if you like, just pay $1000 each time. Don't forget, you may not get the number you bid if you only bid for $1000 coz every number can be someone's favorites, he/she may bid $1001.
