Hamburger Hypersonic March 18, 2012 Share March 18, 2012 bro Yeobh, is it a must or just good to have the batt being recharged once in a while??
Yeobh 4th Gear March 18, 2012 Share March 18, 2012 I reckon many already know, so there nothing to hide Sooner or later they will come for me and I will have to retire from this forum. It is up to the Amin / moderators or unhappy forummers to decide. In the meantime I will try to be a useful automotive knowledge contributor. Back to your question-- Whether to charge of not to charge with an external battery charger depends on few factors - yr current usage, alternator amp output , battery size/age and car usage time and distant. For example, for law enforcement cars in some countries, they are equipped with oversize alternator and battery. Some even have modified alternator pulley drive system so that the alternator will be charging even the car engine is at idling speed. You may have to do some current usage auditing on yr ride by physically taking the amperage usage of all the electrical acc and compare against yr alternator max output. For many 4 x 4 SUV doing long distant cross country drives, they are equipped with two or more batteries. Each have different main functions and are link together via solenoids and to alternator. Hope this helps.
SimonTan 2nd Gear March 18, 2012 Share March 18, 2012 Best to charge it once every month. Or once every week if you blast your 500RMS woofer every day. ↡ Advertisement
