Cut costs,cut maintenance,etc.

Any CEO will instantly get good profit margin within two years.

Just like you car, you use the cheapest ron92 petrol, reduce the maintenance, only top up engine oil, etc. of course you will save $$$.

When you sell the car away, the next owner will have to spend more for major overhaul.

Quite obvious she didn't resign willingly.

Now she is busy with legacy building lest others equally culpable treat her as the scapegoat.

Helped avert High Fare rise ? there are 2 sides of the coin.

1. reduced maintenance and using cheaper alternative spare parts and find all ways to cut costs which you are seeing the aftershocks..

2. plough back the earnings from rentals, advertising space into reducing fares.

The 1st is probably the course of action.

The 2nd, over her dead body.

Actually nothing got to do with engineering background... is people including CEO still have the mindset of "cheap and good" services provider still exist than such incident will not stop [;)]

to be fair... the shops at MRT are very good...... she really from sales background sia

Unfortunately, retail isn't SMRT core business!!! And to be fair, she should be judged on how well-run the SMRT trains are rather than how nice those shops are.

then it has to depend on what the board has given her for her KPI...

i feel the person that should bear the most blame is those that hired her.. she only does what she is good at... which is maximising revenue
