Mileage may vary with everyone.

A DNS rated good for one of your WLAN client is likely to be good for all clients.

Happily1986 5th Gear March 23, 2012 Share March 23, 2012 I notice the browser refresh rate is faster now. yes you will have beneficial effect in that sense. actually DNS are servers that resolve url into ip addresses on behalf of your browsers so the browsing experience will improve as a better DNS server is one that resolve more quickly and/or can communicate with your browser faster because of lesser traffic loading and/or good bandwidth between you and the DNS itself. Many thanks. My router is now pointing to Google DNS, but what about my network adapter at PC level, leave the settings to "obtain DNS address automatically"? Is yours pointing to Google DNS 8.8.8.8, or there are faster DNS out there? Edited March 23, 2012 by Billcoke

Is yours pointing to Google DNS 8.8.8.8, or there are faster DNS out there? set your adapter to obtain DNS address automatically as the router will direct all name resolution requests to 8.8.8.8 and in the order you have specified. i think namebench have queried all the public domain DNS out there so i think if it says Google's fastest for you, it should be the case.
