Yeobh 4th Gear March 31, 2012 Share March 31, 2012 Your mech is still using the 60s technique He should use this simple mechanics stethoscope which in actual fact is already replaced 10yrs ago by electronic sound detecting device with headphone. Time for him to upgrade and improve his productivity.

Ivanpaseo 2nd Gear April 26, 2012 Share April 26, 2012 HI TS, rush is sharing the same engine as malaysia avanza, myvi 1.5 and alza. So should be using the same alternator, if you are familar with the malaysia, they can easily just overhaul/change the bearings and the carbon brush on ur alternator for you, cost around 50 to 100 rm. i got one spare part shop you might want to see if they had recon alternator. Munch003 2nd Gear April 27, 2012 Share April 27, 2012 (edited) I got my alternator from this alternator specialist brand new for $230: Chop Hock Hong 332, King George's Ave, King George's Building, Singapore 208570 http://www.chophockhong.com.sg/index.cfm?GPID=1 Best is you bring down your original alternator and show it to them and they can recommend you something that will fit. BTW I have another alternator that I bought wrongly and doesn't fit my vehicle. Its just a paperweight at the moment. If it fits your car I can let it go cheap. Here are pics of the spare i have laying around for your reference in case you are interested. It has an "LS" type connection. Eastpaw Neutral Newbie June 4, 2012 Share June 4, 2012 Just changed my Altis 1.6 alternator, fan belt, and belt tensioner at Stamford Tyres. $900 including labour. :( Is that a decent price or did I just get ripped off? Also, I'll need to change 2 tyres. They quoted me $88 each. Not sure what brand/model yet. Should I go for it?
