Young woman, 25, found dead in Jurong West flat

Saturday, Mar 31, 2012

A Singaporean Chinese woman, 25, was found dead on Saturday morning in a HDB flat at Jurong West Street 65.

Her body was discovered in the bedroom of the unit at Block 633, and paramedics pronounced her dead at 7.30am.

A 38-year-old suspect, a Singaporean Chinese man, was found at the scene and was arrested by police. He is believed to be the boyfriend of the deceased, The Straits Times reported.

He will be charged in court on Sunday, for the offence of murder, which carries the death penalty.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the pair rented the room some three months ago, but neighbours said they had not seen the young woman for the past two months.

They were, hence, surprised to see her return on Friday night. At around 6.30pm, the pair broke into a heated quarrel which lasted through the night.

A fellow flat tenant, an Indian couple, reportedly called the police at around 1am when the situation appeared to be getting out of hand. The pair however continued their quarrel after the officers left.

At around 6.30am, another flat tenant, an Indian man, who had just returned home, noticed the blood stains in the room. The police was subsequently called in.

According to Shin Min, the suspected was bald-headed and was pushed in a wheelchair onto the police van.

Police conducting their investigations were seen scouring a big grassy patch below the HDB block, in search of what is believed to be a body part or a weapon.

A police tent was also set up on the grass, which is believed to be used to shield the evidence from the rain.

Anyone who obtained a pink IC shall known as "a singaporean man or women", my questions narrow down to a rental flat together with others, is both are local borned true blue Singaporeans ? Or otherwise ? [confused]
