Kenny is gone... the search for the next Manager begins

I have said before that Kenny might be sacked end of season when top 4th finish was out of grasp. Sadly, it came true.

FSG must have the balls of steel to sack a legend in the eyes of all Liverpool fans worldwide. However, it is also such firm decision that gives me the assurance that the owners do mean business. Credit to King Kenny, though utterly disappointed, he carried himself like a true legend after the sacking. He asked fans not to jump to any conclusion as the owners must have their reasons for doing what they did. He urged the board and fans to support the new guy like how they had supported him.

That leads to the next question. Who is the new guy?

Whoever now can tell you for sure who he is going to be, is pure bullocks. Even FSG do not know. They have set forth their criteria and those who met it, will be invited for an interview. From what I have gathered, 2 candidates have already been invited.

FSG are looking for one who will be able to take on the project long term, probably 5 years or more. They want the person to have necessary credential, meaning to have won major trophies in his management career. They want someone who has the passion, the hunger and the determination to carry out their plan - to bring glory back to Liverpool.

Based on the above, only 3 persons whom I think meet the criteria and willing to take on the job come to mind - Andrea Villas-Boas, Jurgen Klopp and Rafa Benitez.

Let's hope I will not be too far off on this one. Each one of them is a worthy replacement in my opinion.

Lastly, I shall leave you with the wishes from Suarez, which I believe echoed many Liverpool fans and those associated with the club:

"KENNY thank you very much for all your help and things I learned from you during 1 year and a half! A big hug and good luck!!"

Just in. Apparently, Roberto Martinez has been confirmed to be one of the two invited for interview. Wigan confirmed that they are allowing Martinez to speak to LFC.

Came as a shock to me but then, he might or might not get the job. Just a confirmed candidate.

I think AVB will quarrel with Stevie G lor. Remember him getting Chelsea to play a high defense line with Terry as the last man. AVB just dont cut it with mediocre squads.

I support Roberto simply because Wigan play good football. I just think tactically, he's the best so far of all the possible candidates.

Also, he knows how to play big teams.

What I am sure is that FSG will not be just talking to one or two candidates. Those who was granted interview first might or might not be their top choice.

The way the Wigan owner is promoting Martinez, gives me a feeling that he can't wait to let him go. Haha.

Anyway, Kenny was entitled a severance fee of

perhaps can consider promoting Stevie G to be player manager....like what they did with Dalglish in the 80s

Frankly speaking, Carra has the higher chance of taking a step up into coaching than Gerrard ever will.

Gerrard will not be able to teach his central mids about tactical discipline as he does not know what is that. :)

Good point bro.

Many fans are worried about Martinez because of the nightmare we had under Woy.

Though he is not my top choice, I will still back him if FSG decides on him. My faith came from the fact that FSG is seeking advise from footballing people. Christian was listening to jornos to when he appointed Woy.

Martinez experimented with a 3-4-3 formation in Wigan. Not sure if he will do it here if he gets the job. Very refreshing tactical formation I must say.

If we going for AVB, I would rather have RDM.

But the manager I would really like is Guus.

Any reason for your choice? He did well initially in Marseille but this season, they finished mid table, enter Europe via their League Cup. Sounds familiar? Uncanny actually.

Sorry bro, Roy won't want anything to do with Liverpool and Liverpool wants nothing to do with him.
