Rubberpad May 25, 2012 Share May 25, 2012 I have a 1 year old XC60 and i am starting to dislike it. The ride is so uncomfortable and harsh. The seats are supposedly to be good but they dont give me good back support. Aircon is weak. Power is weak. Steering feel is poor. Rattles are starting to be become loud Now i am looking at the X5. I have gone for a test drive yet, probably next week. Anyone got any personal review on the X5? ↡ Advertisement

Don't know abt X5, but can comment on my past X3: Ride: jittery, cos on hard suspensions Seats: flat, no contour, but not uncomfortable Aircon: OK, comfortable. But tube leaked after 2 years Power: Good for 2.5 IL6 SUV Steering: tactile & responsive, hydraulic p/s Handling: superb, for an SUV Rattles: none, rock solid Interior: paint peel on plastics Leaks: power steering Failure: FWD-to-RWD actuator, limp mode Sold: after 3yrs warranty
Timbuktu Clutched May 25, 2012 Share May 25, 2012 Last time X3 made in Austria Now X3 / X5 made in USA IMHO, less reliable than the Europeans Austrians are nearly Germans, speak the language too
Iridiumx Clutched May 30, 2012 Share May 30, 2012 The ride is so uncomfortable and harsh. x3: ride has 3 settings.. comfort, sports and sports+ it changes the suspension so in comfort, its pretty must GOOD. The seats are supposedly to be good but they dont give me good back support. x3: pretty much the same as X5. Aircon is weak. x3: i find the aircon stronger in the x3 than x5. perhaps due to less vents? and less distance between aircon unit and the vents? Power is weak. x3: power is Good. 3L NA. same as the X5, gearbox isnt lazy at all. Steering feel is poor. x3: steering feel quite numb. but has 2 different weight settings for comfort and sports. Rattles are starting to be become loud x3: too new to tell. the x3 im refering to is the latest one. F25.
