Acanthus Neutral Newbie June 14, 2012 Share June 14, 2012 Why Anti Virus is needed for Android phones is because of 2 reasons (at least to me anyway) 1. Although i think that Google is trying to "mimic" iTunes for Google Play, it is still nothing like iTunes, where Apple is very strict on the apps that are listed in iTunes. You'll never know when you will download a rogue app. 2. If you have a habit of downloading 'paid' apps from other sources other than Google Play, you'll never know if its a Trojan or wat. Babyt 4th Gear June 14, 2012 Share June 14, 2012 but so far, i only know trojan and other viruses exist in deskop and laptop pc...not sure how true about smartphones. are there many viruses for smartphone? i dunno and i dun think so. in fact, many apps are can be considered 'trojan' as they could be running in the backgrd 'listening' to us.
