Gee 1st Gear June 26, 2012 Share June 26, 2012 Why can not, if previously have been working here? As long as allowed to enter Singapore, passport loss can re-obtain from Msia Embassy imho.

Sosaria Turbocharged June 26, 2012 Share June 26, 2012 (edited) If your fren can re-enter singapore, I'm sure he has been issued some temporary travel document by his high comm? Or is he stuck unable to return to singapore to resume work? As long as he has some documentary proof that his passport was lost and now awaiting replacement, I don't think he'll have any issue. Is he PR, employment pass or WP holder? For PRs they have their entry permit certificates and blue NRICs, so it's not too bad. If I don't recall wrongly, used to work with malaysian techs in manufacturing many years ago - one guy somehow couldn't find his passport, but only lost one or two days from work. And that's probably for formalities and making reports on the malaysian side, to their police, immigration, etc. Rules may have changed these days though. Subutai 3rd Gear June 26, 2012 Share June 26, 2012 Call ICA to clarify if can return to singapore or not ? Work related - call back company folks to help verify with MOM?
Tjkbeluga 5th Gear June 26, 2012 Share June 26, 2012 Calling ICA is wrong priority.... First is get the necessary document to be allowed to enter SG first, which could be an emergency passport issued by MY. Losing international passport is a serious matter which will take months to resolve on MY side. Meanwhile, they should be able to issue you a per visit basis passport. Once you get this, enter SG to reinstate your SG side entry permit.
Gabriel 1st Gear June 26, 2012 Author Share June 26, 2012 (edited) i think my frens just got back...but worried that they are not able to work ... they are PRs actually...and i was actually scolded by them for not helping them find info i find it amusing lor..cause i remember many yrs ago...i had a lot of malaysian colleagues who had passports stolen...the most they took 1 day urgent leave to make police report... then next day back to work...but just to assure my fren..i have to come here amd verify.. Ghostrider 3rd Gear June 26, 2012 Share June 26, 2012 I tot working in SG need work permit ? Passport if without the necessary permit is for entry for tour only and can only last for 3 or 6 months ?? So if he has a valid work permit....then he need not worry...just stay in SG till his passport is reinstated. But he has to get the MY High Com to issue a temp travel documents...else he cannot go back to M'sia when he needs to make his passport. Stand to be corrected.
