Hi Bros,

Like to understand how's TC performance car gearbox lifespan?

I do not own any TC performance car before and like to buy a used one.

First, what's is the lifespan of the gearbox if the driver like to track and F1 on street road? 3yrs ?

What are the lub oil for a TC performance car beside engine oil and GB oil? Any other oil? What's mileage to change compare to GB oil.

I am looking for used 1M or M3 or Golf R

Your input is appreciated. Tks in advance

I believe you mean the 1M.

The M3 doesn't have a turbo

M1 also got turbo and its much bigger. Running on 1500 bhp somemore.

i believe these car's gear boxes are designed for such uses...

1M only come in manual... so shouldn't be a problem

Golf R's gearbox might be an issue, and service standard at Volkswagon Singapore might be an issue too, heard that to book a servicing date, it might be 2months later... unless you would like to visit workshops for servicing

M3 is a 4L V8...

Hi Bros,

Servicing is not a problem. I have my own mechanic to do so.

Even performance car has factor higher trashing rate compare to non-performance car, I believe there is a lifespan on GB.

All contributions are valuable to me. Tks

just for you to note .. my gtr's gearbox failed within the first 2 years ... got it replaced under warranty (but the retail cost would have been a whopping $30k .. on a 300k car)

Gettin new car is not my choice.

Better to save the $$$ for the replacement parts and maintenance.

I'am seriously looking at BMW & Golf R

If R35 replacement of GB within 2yrs, this is amazing... :o

I nv drive these cars before

But I'm sure their gb r made to last for the power ba

Jus pay more attention to oil change lor

Eg na car change oil at 10k

Some will change at 8 k

Tc cars I heard some change at 5 or 8 k

Gb oil jus change at 20/30k intervals ba

Jus service the car regularly

I'm sure the car will be happy for u to whack ba

Cheers

The original GTRs are famous for gearbox problem ... I think they solved it after MY2010 .. So make sure any TC car you buy .. You check all this stuff first bro!

How do i define track and f1 on street roads? Change gear at > 5k rpm and use paddle shift instead of normal D mode?

Weren't those racing versions not meant for normal street use?

Wow, thanks for revealing that - it's cooled my enthusiasm for one somewhat.

to me, no matter how good those state of the art box are, so long they are automated it will always be more problematic as far as the technology now is concerned, especially on these highly powerful rides......
