Hi all, can i get some advice on how to choose tires? been reading through the forum,

 

it seems like this two are the popular choice

 

Michelin Pilot Super Sport

 

and

 

BridgeStone Gr90

 

 

I read through the forum and individually they are good tires. But can anyone give an advice which one i should pick?

 

Feel free to ask any questions if you need info? my ride is volvo s40 2.0.

a decent tyre like pilot ps3 or bridgstone 002 is more very good for your case liao

I believe yours is 205/50/16 I would get 225/45/16. It fits on the S40 16" rims and has almost same rotation size. I changed my V50 to 225/45 and the handling improved a lot.

 

Try Michelin PS3, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asym, Conti CSC3, Pirelli Cincurato P7 (spelling?)

 

A lot of these 225/45 tyres on market because Merc, BMW uses them and people sell them after collecting car.

oh and my is 205/55/16. If i change to 225/45/16 , i am afriad if therea full load, it much touch the wall?

if 205/55/16 stick to your orignal size please(tons of choice of good tyre in the market)

for those changed from 205/50/16 to 225/45/16 you are very funny (225/45/16 is really very unusual size le)

most bm or mercedes is on 225/45/17

and 1 change from 205 width to 225 please check your rim wide enough to accept 225 tyre

Oops! SORRY! My bad. It's 205/50/17 to 225/45/17. Yes, 205/55/16 is a very good size, lots of tyres to choose from.

Need some gd advice. Intend to purchase a 2nd hand 2008 S40 2.4I but concern about its performance and the maint. Any gd advice and area to look out for when viewing?

S40 2.4i is an awesome 5 cycl NA engine. Very reliable. You should get it if the car is in good shape.

Performance is very good -- better than the old BMW320i

CSC2 or the newer CPC5 would be good as well. Price should be about the same
