my voltmeter is myself. when got problems cranking, its about time to change battery liao.

otherwise you can plug in a cheap voltmeter to ciggie port or OBD depending on type to get a reading. normal around 14V +/-

It will be handy for you to monitor your battery voltage fluctuations. If one day when you notice the voltage is always stagnant at or above 14V, it could be a sign the battery is not taking in the charge anymore.

Thank you for sharing guys.

from google and info:

A reading of 12.6 volts indicates a fully charged battery,

12.4 volts is 75% charged,

12.2 volts is 50% charged,

and 12.0 volts is 25% charged.

Note: If your battery is completely dead or extremely low, it should be recharged with a fast or slow charger. This will reduce the risk of overtaxing and damaging your vehicle's charging system. One or both battery cables should be disconnected from the battery prior to charging it with a charger. This will eliminate any risk of damage to your vehicle's electrical system or its onboard electronics.

1) It can monitor the working conditions of your batt, alternator & alternator's belt

2) Yes. If the batt is dying, the volt will be low b4 starting the engine. How low depends on the batt condition. If after starting up, the voltage remains the same or lower, it mean ur alternator is not working or the belt is either loose or snap.
