I diy engine flush 2 times and it work great.

The key to engine flush is the type of product used.

Some tech saying, engine flush is to keep your new engine cleaner not for cleaning old and dirty engine. So when engine flush create problem, it usually the latter.

Even with regular oil change, when you open up the valve cover there bound to have varnish.

I use additive because i believe in it. Same goes to the people who dont believe in it

My previous car.

I knew a driver whose car had an engine which I think was the same as mine.

He used a very popular engine oil and added an engine oil additive.

He had very good FC.

He also had a "golden" engine caused by varnish.

I had used the same popular engine oil before.

I had mild varnish which was detected from my "golden" dipstick.

It eventually went away.

I used to have varnish, slight sludging, dirty throttle body (every 30-40k) and leaky engine top cover. .

I contemplated to use engine flush to do some cleaning.

Eventually, after much experiment, I did not need to.  This is what I did :-

Every tank I use a fuel with PEA.

Every 5000km,  I use a PEA based fuel system cleaner.

Evert 10,000km,  I use an ester based engine oil which has good cleaning properties.

Just to add, I recall any driver who also had a "golden" dipstick.

The issue went away because he used a pureplus engine oil which has good cleaning properties.

Petrol - Caltex95  ( historic reasons. Now most brand will have some form PEA )

Fuel System Cleaner  - Caltex Techron Concentrate or Redline SI-1

Engine Oil - Redline mix   ( alternative can be Motul and those with PurePlus )

Legit.

It has to be synthetic 2T fulfilling JASO FC/FD std.

With Mini Copper S sports mode, I will get tailpipe popping sound when foot off throttle.

With 2T in petrol tank, no popping sound.

I tried that on motorcycle when I was a teenager for the sake of fun. The four strokes bike felt smoother (maybe placebo effect) and it gave a little smoke at the exhaust pipe, didn't foul the spark plug though.

what is the 2T mixing ratio for your car?
