Lazydala Neutral Newbie August 16, 2012 Author Share August 16, 2012 I guess the best way to remember is that only 2 types of lines u can park. 1. U can park besides dotted white line 2. U can park along single yellow line from 7pm till 7am. The rest all will get fined, like that makes it easier :) You are the best responder of this thread. Fd60 Neutral Newbie August 16, 2012 Share August 16, 2012 It is an offence. That's way there is continuous white line and there is dotted white line. The former is in the absent of double yellow lines and essentially means the same thing...not parking along the road. there is no such thing as dotted white line get fined . Macrosszero Turbocharged August 16, 2012 Share August 16, 2012 there is no such thing as dotted white line get fined . Got....... if you are parking against the flow of traffic for the side of the road you are parked on, you will get fined even if it was a dotted white line or a solid yellow line during permitted hours. Timbuktu Clutched August 16, 2012 Share August 16, 2012 On most minor roads, you will observe that where double yellow lines end (no parking), a middle continuous white line begins (also no parking) ... the latter usually toward the end of the minor road, before a junction. So it does NOT mean that where double (or single) yellow lines end means you can park. There usually is a central single white line thereafter. AFAIK, this rule had existed even in the 70's. Nothing has changed. You are just oblivious of it!
