I guess the best way to remember is that only 2 types of lines u can park.

1. U can park besides dotted white line

2. U can park along single yellow line from 7pm till 7am.

The rest all will get fined, like that makes it easier :)

:D You are the best responder of this thread.

It is an offence. That's way there is continuous white line and there is dotted white line. The former is in the absent of double yellow lines and essentially means the same thing...not parking along the road.

there is no such thing as dotted white line get fined .

The fine for parking opp continuos white line under Rule 22(a) of the RTR is $70. I got one last month and went to onemotoring.com.sg to appeal and was lucky to get a waiver.

Can appeal be made online at onemotoring.com.sg ? How?

I have never got fined and never appealed before.

Got....... if you are parking against the flow of traffic for the side of the road you are parked on, you will get fined even if it was a dotted white line or a solid yellow line during permitted hours.

On most minor roads, you will observe that where double yellow lines end (no parking), a middle continuous white line begins (also no parking) ... the latter usually toward the end of the minor road, before a junction.

So it does NOT mean that where double (or single) yellow lines end means you can park.

There usually is a central single white line thereafter.

AFAIK, this rule had existed even in the 70's.

Nothing has changed.

You are just oblivious of it!

Ask LTA go camp along Geylang Road - summon all those lorry / goods van parking along the double yellow lines - at anytime - see they dare to do it or not..... knn only know how to go to landed property catch private cars...

I mean those lorries along Geylang Raod is causing hell lot of inconvenient to other cars...the SBS Bus also need to LL skirt around them to go into bus bays...
