I have a colleague who kena parking summon while driving the company's van. But before he paid the fine, he left the company.

So who's repsonsible for the fine now? Is it still the driver or becomes the company?

Or no need pay liao? [:p]

but the driver who kena summon is him, not the company eh. how can company be liable.

Because the vehicle is register to the company, not to individual.... so when the summon come, it will address to the company..... so up to the boss to see which farker kena the summon and get the farker to pay... if the farker already left... then LL company pay.....

I feel the procedure shld be submit details abt the summon to the authorities eg. LTA, URA, TP, and furnish them with the offender's info. Then it is up to that guy who left the company to appeal or pay the fine instead of letting the company clear his shxt! <_<

I thought this is a very straightforward case. The driver who drove the vehicle and committed the offence has to pay. For example, if my car is driven by my friend and had been summoned for illegal parking, the authority will send a letter to me, who is the registered owner of vehicle to ask for driver particulars. Having furnished my friend particular to the authority, my job is done and the one who is going to face the music is my friend.

And in this case, I am sure the company has records of who drove the vehicle on the day in question, what the company needs to is just furnish the particulars of the driver to the authority.

By right lar.... But u think LTA so hardworking... [laugh] ..... If the driver deny, since he already left the company, u think LTA will go find who.... [rolleyes]

Ultimately is the registered owner of the van.

So the company has legal obligation to pay up first.

How and if the company want to reimburse from the driver is between company and ex staff.

that's what i thought to. Shouldnt it be furnish the driver particulars to authority, instead of company LL pay the fine for another person's irresponsibilty

I know abt this guy who went for test drive & subsequently the AD got the summon. After tracing the test driving record book/computer, the sale mgr submitted the details of the guy to TP to handle...

I am sure your company still have the full name & IC of that ex-colleague rite? [;)]

How much is the summon?? Whether or not I pay would depend on my working relationship with the company [:p]
