i read that it is gonna be fast... i really hope she can survive till my wedding in march... she doesnt know about her condition yet.. she seems ok still.. jaundice is rather evident and a little more fatigue..

she hasnt showed any signs 1 mth ago, then 2 week ago i saw her she somewhat lost weight, then her skin color and whites in the eyes were yellowish.. sent her to the hospital and they did test and biospy and discharge her 7 days later follow up on friday doctor said its the last stage as it spread to the breast and possibly her bones..

Bro. 6mths to 1 yr. My condolences. At this stage, please think about no therapy as the chemo, DXT may not be good for your granny and her body may nopt take it. Just let her live it out and be at peace and make her happy.

Seek medical advice and I believe any onco worth his salt will also advise you.

Be safe bro and take care

True chemo is never advisable at stage 4. Do let her stay happy as it is known happiness do bring miracle.

Do pardon me as I would also like to share the use of pine Pine Pollen to strengthen immunity against cancer. I had lost two uncles to cancer too, its hard to find a definitive cure but building immunity is a good start. Can pm me for more info.

Take care bro

Bro,sad to hear that. But like what some bros here mentioned,at her age, going thru chemo is not advisable.

It might extend a little bit more time, but she will suffer even more especially at this age due to chemo.

sorry to hear about that bro... usually anything from 1 month to 6 month depending on seriousness and percentage of liver function left (30% is the critical minimum)

We also similarly found out about my dad liver problem last year Oct... he started slimming down and when he start turning yellow I sent him to the hospital... liver cancer but stage 2... but the worst part is acute cirrhosis leaving his liver with about 30+ percent left... kidney also failing as toxic could not be removed by liver... doc give him about a month or so before most organ go beyond critical stage...

he damn lucky during his last week he managed to get a matching liver (god bless the good soul)... now strong and healthy... but lifetime medication...

I guess for grandma age... best option is stay happy... take the medication... and take thing as it goes...

thanks all for your advices... :D i am still trying to come to terms about her cancer..

this granny of mine, took care of me since i was young and has always been close to me.. these years due to busy schedules i only see her every 3weeks to a month but every occasion we either go out for food or simply sit down and chat the whole afternoon.. last week when i saw her at home she looks significantly weaker but her jaundice seems to be getting better, but jus ytd my parents went down and mum told me her jaundice seems to be worst..

now i heard she dunno abt her condition i dunno how am i gonna face her later.. i understand the seriousness of the situation, i read that life expectancy can range from 1 month - 1 year or even more, though seems that most cases the speed is extremely fast.. i really hope she can last till my wedding in end march. i didnt know till my wife pointed out this, that she is the one person i want to be most at my wedding..

i shall hear more from my uncles and share later tonight.

Sorry to hear what had happened.

I remembered the time when my Granny also passed away due to cancer spreading to the other parts of the body and the bone. I still remembered clearly the pain she was going through then. I know it is not easy for your family during this time.

I wished that I could have done more for my Granny before her death. I hope you might want to consider to hold a simpler ceremony first and let her enjoy and be happy to see the grandson get married. Nobody can clearly advise you how long more but we should do the things while we still can.

Sorry to be so kay poh to say all these.

I don't know about liver cancer, but I have someone who has throat cancer stage 4, and after a series of RT, he's recovering well. Surprise surprise.

No need for further treatments. Just keep going back for reviews.

And he's 63/64 years old

RADX, he's recovering........... Thank God.......

she had been to my ROM last year.. so i guess thats at least something.. now i am looking through the pictures and she looked so happy! my cousin also got married last year and my sister just gave birth to a baby boy last month.. its jus too sudden, i remember that she look perfectly normal 1 month ago, i still brought her to loyang and kar soh dinner after that. then i went on business and only saw her 2 weeks later which she dont look good and she complain that her urine is like tea and is cant eat as much as usual plus is sleeping more than usual. she used to sleep from 11 - 4 am which she will go down for morning exercise and marketing then have a short nap from 3-4pm and wake up to cook.

my maternal granny also pass away because of liver cancer 3 years back. she survived around a year. but there was no spreading, or so i hear.. there wasnt any test after the detection, nobody told her her condition until she felt herself getting weaker and weaker. she was later admitted for UTI but it was 2 massive heart attack that took her. her cause as stated was liver cirrosis and heart attack. she waited for everyone to be there before the 2nd attack took her..

Spend the precious time with her.

Look at the positive side as she still knows you and can talk to you.

My grandma though is 84yrs now, but because of dementia and was in old age care in the past few years and couldn't recognise any of the family since and now is semi-concious state.

Do spend more time with them now. [grouphug]
