Kurty Supercharged November 25, 2012 Share November 25, 2012 most problem is the loosing of connectors, it happen for me. boiling, then immediately went back to s.c, diagnosis and found out it's only the loosing of connectors causing fan not working. ever since then, happily ever after. Opel17 6th Gear November 25, 2012 Share November 25, 2012 When the car had cooled down, remove and inspect the radiator cap. If the rubber seals in the radiator cap had deteriorated, this may contribute to water boiling. This was what my Nissan Pulsar encountered many years ago. Yeobh 4th Gear November 26, 2012 Share November 26, 2012 You know the cause and you have answer yourself . I reckon you have not much choice but to get to your trust mechanic to get a replacement. Do not bother to do flushing or repair as many of the radiator tubes have rust and corroded beyond service and repair.

Now-adays new cars use coolant+water in the radiator that prevent such thing from happening. What can I do now? New car old car also use coolant. It helps to prevent rust as well as aid cooling of the radiator. Overheating can be a few reasons...a few that I know of 1) Fan not working. You drive temp is ok...but when you stop...temp start climbing. 2) Thermo not working. 3) Leaking radiator 4) choked radiator due to rust.
MadDog70 2nd Gear November 28, 2012 Author Share November 28, 2012 Went to Autobacs to check, confirmed got leakage. Quoted $780 to change the bushing + 4 hoses. Then the technician says my timing belt time to change, need $800 for the work. Any workshop in Sin Ming that can do this cheaper?
Ghostrider 3rd Gear November 28, 2012 Share November 28, 2012 Any workshop will be cheaper than Autobacc. Depending on car models...change timing belt (sure need to change or not...what is the mileage ?) would cost between 600-1000. If really need to change, then you should repair your leaks as well (assuming its just hoses leaking and not the radiator itself). The labour should be cheaper since changing of timing belt is a rather major repair.

Wah change 4 hose n what bushing? Why change so many things? Timing belt depends on car. Most jap/korean abt $500-600 incl waterpump n coolant.
