Hi all, any of you guys send your cars to this particular workshop for accident claims/repair before? Do they also provide car rental for the days that the car need to stay in the workskop for repair? Just realised this workshop is one of my insurance company (AXA) authorised workshops. Hoping to see any personal experiences from you guys if any, though i googled for some reviews and they aren't exactly positive [:)]

I did my servicing there before. My front fender was scratched by them. Luckily I found out and called back the SA who was going out for lunch. Then waited the rest of the afternoon for them to fix the scratch. Useless bums. Can't provide a courtesy car, can't fix the scratch immediately.

Ouch bro! One of the reviews also said he had his car damaged by them too during repair. I've heard their mechanics are quite young and inexperienced, i hear already also scared. They admitted and touched up the sratch for you FOC?

I had used Bukit Batok ETHOZ services last year when I was hit in the rear.

Granted a Cat B courtesy car.

One-stop shop. Insurance report and claims done smoothly.

Courteous staff.

Luckily can polish off. But the long afternoon wait was what turned me off. And no apology whatsoever from anyone. Just "Oh, we'll fix it for you, please wait". KNN from lunchtime wait till 4pm.

Since then, I never did any servicing with big workshops. Prefer to deal with small workshops where you can see what is being done to your car.

I've mixed reviews about them.

1st experience was many years ago - before they changed their name to Ethoz. Excellent service then. My car was damaged in an accident - they really repaired it well and gave me a replacement car. I claimed 3rd party and everything was smooth; they helped to settle everything. I was very happy.

My next experience was a couple of years ago - since I had gotten good experience, I decided to go back to them. This time accident was my fault. My car had a very small damage in front. The bumper was somewhat caved in and the front grill damaged. Since I had changed my front grill in a mod several years ago, I had still kept my original front grill at home. Since I wanted to save the costs of repair, and hopefully reduce my insurance claim - I asked them if I could use the existing original front grill to replace. The customer service girl who attended said yes. So I gave them the grill.

2 incidents marred my experience with them. 1st incident - about 4 days after leaving my car with them - I get a call from the customer service girl who told me the car was repaired and I could collect the next day. The next day - I get another call from the girl and was informed my car had caught fire and had burned down. I was ...:o:wacko: ... "But you told me yesterday the car was repaired," I replied. "I don't understand ... what do you mean it had burned down?" She was unable to coherently explain. Anyway, I rushed down to Ethoz asap and went to look for my car. She got supervisor to explain to me what happened.

According to their story, they claimed that my voltage stabiliser had shorted and caused a fire in the middle of the night. But the night security guard had seen smoke coming out and managed to extinguish it before it cause too much damage.

I looked at the damage - it was quite a lot of cosmetic damage to the front paintwork and the rubber and plastics under the hood. I was extremely upset with the explanation - I could not believe the volt stab shorting story. Anyway, I expected them to fix everything and return to me good as new, since the fire happened under their care and their insurance should pay for everything. Then, the unexpected happened - the supervisor told me that since the volt stab is not an original component of the car, and because it was not a manufacturer defect - this is NOT covered under insurance and I had to bear the charges.

I was livid! I told them I had the car for 6 years with the volt stab. Definately if it was to short - it would have happened long before. AND if it was damaged due to the accident, it should have happened before the completed the initial repairs. The very fact that the short (as they claimed) happened only after they completed the repairs, it would be their mechanics fault for not fixing up something properly. I refused to bear the costs.

Anyway - the verbal ding dong went on for a while. I consulted my own insurance agent, who checked with the insurance company and was not very helpful. To make a long story short, at the end, I went for a compromise where I paid partially for the repairs, and they "out of goodwill" replaced some parts for free. They lent me a replacement car as well - it took another whole week to get the repairs completed. My out of pocket costs came up to nearly $1k (from an original accident where I was covered totally by insurance and had zero payment, and to collect the car in less than a week).

The 2nd issue in this sordid mess was that they lost the original front grill I had given to them to reduce the insurance costs in the original accident, and had charged $260+ to my insurance costs for a replacement grill. And when I pursued to get either the grill or a refund for my lost grill, I never received any call back from them - until I gave up pursuing it and was resigned to the loss.

So ... my review of them is NOT very good.

That's real terrible bro, and definitely csb about the voltage shorted stabiliser. Should have ask for CCTV evidence, maybe they have it. Or personally ask the security guard yourself

When they were called Orix, they sucks. Now, I cannot comment because refuse to go there again.

I met with an accident and the car went there for evaluation. People hit my back they said I am at fault and ask me to pay $800.00 for excess and they will repair under OD.

I ask people bang me why my fault? Turns out the staff who attended to me, his uncle was the driver of the car behind.

Lodged a complaint, engage a lawyer with my own pocket and won the case.

The staff got sacked.

About the voltage stabilizer, there are two sides to the story. They could be right about the voltage stabilizer, you never know unless you are electrical engineer and know about the workings of a voltage stabilizer and how it will affect the car's electrical system.

On the other hand, they could have shorted the wiring while working on your car. That's another doubt.

Thats why, even though I very tu lan, I decided to cut loss and agree to compromise. Consider myself suay in that incident, and just move on.

Got sandwiched in a chain accident on PIE last year. Chartis told me to go to ETHOZ Tampines.

Took nearly a month to get the car fixed. They said insurance nowadays very "cat", so have to bargain a lot to get better deal. For some reason, they run out of small cars (my 1.5L), gave me a SUV for the period. Damn Siok.

Workmanship OK. Got 6 months warranty.
