Hello, not sure if it is just me or everyone felt the same but i realised that nowadays since 2-3months back our train service is getting worse. Morning have to wait for 2-3 trains before manage to squeeze in and then in the evening another rounod of wait for 4-5 trains squeeze like sardines again.

Working life in SG sucks without a car!

Even if they increase the frequency of the train trips, the time taken for passengers boarding and alighting the trains will cause delays anyways.

Aiya, add 1 more door in the middle on every carriage. It will solve ppl from avoiding the center of the carriage and prevent ppl from crowding at the 2 doors. A lot of time wasted for asking ppl to move to the center of the train carriage hence best solution is add another door in the middle. Ppl can get in & out faster.

A lot of the crowded are selflish behavor. Often in bus, the front squeeze like hell, while the back is relatively free. People just do not take the initiative to move in.

Actually not true, buses are now all packed to the brim, even the space at the back are all filled.

more trains and increase frequencies not enuf.

shd add more new/parallel/limited stops/express lines but that takes great deal time/money to handle our ever-increasing passengers load...6.9 million...good luck to us all...

The other time I took MRT, there are cabins without seats right? I thought it was a good idea. Maybe can have more seatless cabins during peak hours sure can squeeze more people in.

Today the experts said it all liao - the garment is to fixated with 2.1 TFR and actually 1.7 is goot enuff, no need 6.9 million people squeezing on this tiny rock.

Once I witnessed a commotion outside a bus. When I walked nearer, I realised a crowd has gathered at the bus entrance shouting at the passengers inside to move to the back. None budge. They were too busy playing with their mobile phones and tablets.

nope. I find it easier to get on trains now except when it's raining..

mrt seems to travel much slower or got problem when raining

Braking would be a problem especially those on open ground.

I ever took once from AMK to Orchard. It was raining heavily and as it approached Bishan Station, the train over short the station by half the train length. Then anouncement came and passengers wish to alight at Bishan Stn will have to take the train at next station (Newton) to get back to Bishan station.... :o

seen it happen few times, mrt reversed lol

this slowing down or jammed traffic only started when they had breakdowns... previously past 10+ yrs no such problem

SINGAPORE: SMRT CEO Desmond Kuek wants to achieve a "zero defect" attitude to regain public trust in the company.

He admitted it has been a challenging period since he assumed the role last October.

He said the company has to move from a "fire-fighting mode" and strive for a "zero defect" attitude.

He gave the public transport operator a B grade in reliability and availability and wants to bring this to an A grade as soon as possible.

Compared with other international transport operators, he gave SMRT a B+ in carrying capacity.

Laying out his vision and goals since he became CEO four months ago, Mr Kuek said on Thursday that SMRT is learning from its past mistakes and is committed to achieving an A grade as soon as possible.

Mr Kuek said: "As a company, what we are committed and determined to do is to get to an A or an A star, soonest and certainly over the next few years. Over the past couple of years, the company has got through a couple of bad patches, as a company we have resolved to learn all those past mistakes and we will benchmark ourselves with the best in class in the world.

"Basically the point I'm making is that we would not be giving ourselves a top grade, we will be saying quite clearly that we have room for improvement but we are not a D or an F."
