SINGAPORE: An SBS Transit bus hit two taxis at a cab stand in Commonwealth Avenue, near Commonwealth MRT Station on Thursday morning.

The driver of Service 100, who's in his 60s, was sent to the National University Hospital for suspected cardiac arrest.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted about the accident at 10:50am.

SBS Transit said in a statement that no one else was injured.

It said its top priority is to ensure the well-being of the bus captain, affected passengers and road users.

SBS should make yearly med checkup a compulsory for the drivers.

Just imagine such accident happens, and at the risk of the commuters and other road users.

Stop thinking of the profit margin plzzz

You mean in this case? Should be ah lau [:p]

Anyway this incident got me wondering.....

What if someone had a heart attack while doing 90kmh?

Maybe some of those car wrap tree incidents had to do with heart attack?

Scary thought

Yearly medical so what? Heart attacks can happen to anyone of any age.

You should be asking why an old man in his 60s is still working so hard as a bus driver. Whose fault is it? [rolleyes]

The answer is YES....

Even if indeed he is in the high risk. As an employer, what can they do? Don't hire ppl with heart attack risk? Do you actually know how heart attack is diagnosed? A person who are about to get heart attack can have perfectly normal ECG... Only angiogram can fully confirm the blockage.
