Sdf4786k Twincharged February 24, 2017 Share February 24, 2017 Only people who drives a eco green car that claims to be fuel efficient should be concerned with fuel consumption. Otherwise they will feel so cheated, am I right ? So therefore if your car is not even qualified to be a fuel efficient green eco car, stop trying to pretend to be one. On a different topic, let me show something interesting " Let me do you a real life example Average mileage per year let's assume a reasonable 25,000 km If you fill up with 92 $2.07 from SPC, and $2.41 on 98 Assuming your car is 13km/l , just like all your shitty toyota or nissan.. A year spent on petrol, without discounts or rebates : On 92 = $3980 On 98 = $4634 Difference of about $650 in a year. Now let's compare Toyota Prius 27km/l and Altis 15.4 km/l ( both on paper spec ) Take the same 25,000 km mileage On 95 RON $2.11 , not including any discounts or rebates Prius = $1953 Altis = $3425 Difference of $1480 Price of car Prius $106,000 Altis $103,000 Price difference $3000 Break even after 3 years if you drove Prius. Which means, in those 3 years, your expenditure actually didn't got any cheaper than a bloody Altis. On the 4th year you start to gain a little savings of more than $1000 per year. Both cars about 120 bhp, with Prius having lesser torque than a Altis, despite its 1.8 L engine compared to 1.5 L of Altis. For that $1480 per year saving for the next 7 years... that's$10,370 cheaper. If you've taken a loan out of the car at 50%..you total payable amount is $80,000 out of the actual $50,000 loan amount. Interest accrued is $30,000 You might as well buy a cheap car that has slightly poor fuel efficiency, pay the car sum in full, and save on at least $30,000. Use that $30,000 to fuel up the difference in petrol for the next 7 years and still be happily keeping the extra $20,000. But of course, this is personal. In person, I hate Toyota.. but just giving an example. I would much prefer to go with the KIA Niro. Seems like 10 year warranty on Batt and 5 year on car is quite reasonable. However, the offer of 103,000 is no longer available plus a longer waiting period.

flashbang Turbocharged February 24, 2017 Share February 24, 2017 I've mentioned before (with calculations), going for a hybrid to save on petrol is typically a dumb move as the increased cost of the car easily outweights any petrol savings, unless you expect to be driving a lot eg 40k+/year. To put it simply, when you buy a hybrid, you pay for your fuel savings upfront inside the car cost, and you still pay interest for it due to your car loan. The best value for money hybrid now is the Honda Vezel hybrid as the price difference is only 3-4k. Camry Hybrid has a direct comparison to normal Camry, but it's 30k more expensive. For Prius I would compare with your normal compact hatchbacks like Jazz or even Mazda 2, which are 10k cheaper.

east41st 3rd Gear February 25, 2017 Share February 25, 2017 Petrol prices are rising globally It is not restricted to only one country or region even gulf countries are facing fuel price hike. This is not entirely accurate. When oil prices were dropping world wide, the finance minister raised petrol duty to prop up pump prices. Now that oil has recovered a little, the petrol duty was not removed. And this contributes to the record high pump prices now.

He is and only will be a mediocre commuter if he says so. Just like a die hard Apple fan will never admit that Apple products are less user friendly than Android phones, even though they knew new Apps will never be able to run on old iOS version and that current cables Won't fit previous model. Apples and Eco green cars are in these same refuse-to-admit buyers. Edited February 25, 2017 by carloverguy2017
