Engine Suspected Overheated... Radiator leaked

Engine fan did not turn off after ignition is switched off.

Keep on running for ten minutes.

After car cooled down, the opened radiator cap and saw no water inside. Totally dry.

Went to workshop, mechanic demo that radiator leaked.

The black plastic portion seeped water out.

Changed whole radiator.

Total Damage: $700
plus thermostat change and upper and lower hose change together with the thermostat clip.

Wear and tear :(

Any one tried installing gauges via OBD?

Tried 2 brands... both not compatible. Magician and Ultragauge...

Was cleaning the air filter and noticed this device at the air intake. Any idea what this is ? Bought this car 2nd hand thus unaware of what add ons it came with.

Is this a norm with exora ?

Hi fainsyah, just got my Exora Dec 2009 model. Hope we can stay in touch to exchange experience and tips.

No problem. Hope your ride is not giving you any issues. When I first received mine, the few problems I have:

1) Engine light turns on intermittent

2) car cannot restart and only has a click sound . Also intermittent. Can't crank up

For 1 and 2 went to larkin proton to replace manifold and then all OK

Made keys as well as I was given with only one. Very unique. The key has a transponder that does not allow duplicates to work.

Currently the ride is OK. Changing from gear 1 to 2 on auto may jerk at times and at times the gear change rather rough.

Good enough for the family.

Fuel ... I am getting used to the 9.5 to 9.8 km per liter.

Mine needs to change timing belt and do servicing. It seems there is squeaky sound when i move off. Mine is manual so clutch is stiff. Larkin which side? Open on sunday?

My first servicing after ownership was direct at Proton Edar Larkin. Thought of checking with the manufacturer for issues.

My squeaky sounds comes from my brakes. More like screeching. Was told that the previous owner mod the brakes and changed the rotors.

After reading the entire forum, am glad that the known problems have been rectified by previous owner.

Larkin Service Centre is not opened on Sundays.

Call for an appt before you go otherwise they may not be able to entertain.

Larkin number +6072382352 or +6072388578

It is straight opp to Proton Spare Parts center along Jalan Langkasuka. If using GPS type Jalan Langkasuka.

If going on Saturday's try to reach there early... opens at 8am.

Hi bro, if u are going to JB for the wheel straight and balanced, I can tag along? I need to troubleshoot famous wheel associated CPS. Thank you! . The brake pads are cheap. I called to inquire about a pair TTS brake pads were originally announced new .... cost about $ 450 with the metal bracket included.
