I've tried it in Japan too.... It's called basashi. Eat with minced garlic. No perculiar taste but the distribution of the fat is unique. It's quite nice actually....

Obviously this batch of meatballs is about to expire due to the stoppage of sale during the horsemeat scare.

 

That's why they are going for 10 cents only.

 

Do you really want to feast on lumps of dead cow that has been in the freezer for weeks?
