Tell u what some schools do. (shall not reveal school name). They know some students have financial difficulty, instead of declining them from OS trip, they make the students go thru interview and selection process. Then, the outcome will be only those financial able ones will get to go. This way, you don't hurt the rejected ones that much. At least they will think they can't go is bcos they failed the interview and selection process, not bcos they cannot afford. I thought this strategy is quite good.

 

Perhaps u can help feedback this idea to her school.

dun think the wife going out to work is guaranteed to be a good solution....sometimes, kids who dun have someone at home paying close attention to them get into trouble....i feel we shld nvr judge other families....everyone has diff set of problems
