never secure the bonnet properly and double locking action...then blame faulty latch??

 

thats why i frowned on those uncle teaching L plate with their bonnet not fully latched, thinking engine will be better ventilated.....

Actually hor, alot of times I didn't latch when in msia in my old car, max speed 150 and it didnt fly up, wonder how it happen.

U have either been lucky or blessed.. if u don't believe, try to unlatch yr existing car again and wack NSHW at 150km/he again.. I'm sure one of these time u will encounter.

IMO just ebrake. It is an emergency. If someone behind rams into you not your fault. Who ask him not to keep a safe distance? If you slow down gradually and happened to hit something then all ur fault already. How do you know there won't be someone who decided to jaywalk at that moment? Or a motorbike or another car cut infront? For the guy behind as long as there is a safe distance, he won't hit you unless he day dreaming.

Next time better double secured it with cable ties.

This has happened to my friend Vios before. Basically the 3 bolts holding the latch to the body came loose and the whole bonnet flipped open when he was driving on ECP.
