I use Nano Paint Protect from SONAX because theirs no need maintenance not like those CS2, Revolz, DiamondBrite, Permanon etc ask you go back every few months touch-up.. If the paint protection really lasts for the duration they won't ask you go back at all...

And also because I trust German brands.. hehe... :)

Will be interesting to put it on a test..where can i grab a tube..hurhurhur..

Anyway just to share with the kakis here...there is nothing call no need maintenace likewise AD telling you lifetime atf..

I started buying and playing from polymer..acrylic..carnauba 10 years ago till today..glass coating..ceramic coating..nano coating etc..i am still buying whenever foreign detailers say sibei ho aka very good..

And i can tell you none could protect the paint from having watermarks and dropping and even paint chemist will tell u so..i ever told dg chemist to manufacture a product that could resist dropping and they told me " benny..it is not possible.." detailing products in the market are used to prolong the paint shine and prevent paint from oxidising fast..paint still get stain with coating on but it is how easy to remove this stains from the coating..sealant or waxes..generally all products helps maintaining easier...

simple..if a manufacturer is able to come out with a no need to maintain products..he or she will not manufacture quick

deatiler or spray wax and even car shampoo..

Fyi..permanon from germany..i probably know where u come from..lol

Huh I thought Permanon is from USA. Correct me if I'm wrong.

All I'm saying is, I don't believe all those 2 year, 5 year, 10 year warranty stuff. It will be good if all those companies who manufacture all these products actually put them all through a test of time of their acclaimed lasting period without doing any re-application.. which I doubt they will bother to anyway, it's not in their interest.

P.S I am not affiliated to SONAX in any way, just sharing my experience that I loved their Paint Protection. Might try something else next since theirs supposedly lasts only 12 months. Maybe Zaino or Zymol or something. Undecided. yet [rolleyes]

I am not sure if you have tried any of them..The touching up is not a must or I should put it as optional..To touch up every 6months does not mean product is not lasting..Touching up every 6 month for them will be easier to correct the paint if needed and again owner will decide if to do so every 6 months.

Assumming the car is parked 24/7 shelter..he or she may just need to go back a year later..

If the warranty is free, why not? Manufacturer does their testing for most products before they officially launch them into the market..1 or 2 years or permanent durability are their claims..The product may or may not last that period alot depends on the preparation work..temp and humidity before application.. If a detailer is going to whack a product claiming durability of up to 1 year on a oxidise surface without prep, probably the product will last for a week..

What is the difference in terms of quality?

My previous car, I used CS2. My colleague also had the same car also white colour and bought about the same time as me (I think 2 or 3 months earlier). He did not use CS2. After his car reach the first year there was a slight but definite yellowing of the colour. Whereas my car even in the third year and NOT having done any touch up treatment still white as snow.

But for me, I go for their basic maintenance every quarter which cost $50. To me, it's worth it.

I think the recommended touch-ups be it optional/permanent varies from product to product. Wish I had more cars to try out the varying effects if not quite hard to justify the quality comparison :D

Yea I know alot of it depends on climate, ambience, prep works, paint type etc.

What is your take on those acclaimed aircraft-grade sealants? Worth a shot?

Happend to see this. Just for sharing my own humble experience.

My previous car is proteced with CSII and now on Ceramicpro 9h. I would say i prefer ceramicpro 9h. Super glossy and reflective till today. No rubbish of regular frequent maintainences. Water replancy is still as good as day one. Compairison, my car now does not have any visiable scratches compaired to my previous car. Bird dropings and water marks aslo does not eat. I came back from Taiwan and my car has some bird bombs as i park outdoors. After a wash, there are no eating in marks.

Supercharged

I do not have experience with Ceramic. But, CS2 lot of experience.

1. CS2: 2 cars - If you are good in washing your car on your own, this is good. But, if you get petrol station wash, better avoid this. In any case, you need to go for their regular maintenance with them. Our white cars were in tact with this. My wife has a white car now with CS2.

2. CS2 Ceramic: My present car is with their Ceramic. This is very good. After 9 months, there is no maintenance required. You can get your car washed outside. This is more shiny when your car is light colour (my car is dark coloured this time)

3. Diamond brite: I would recommend this if your car is dark. In my opinion my black car was shiny with this and better than my present dark coloured car on Ceramic.

Let me know if you need more info.

There are really a lot of PPS out there in the market right now. A big factor for most consumers will be Price vs Effect.

Another consideration will be the proper application of the PPS and the paint correction works done on the paintwork Prior to application.
