Nice design, I must say. I wonder will they move away from the 4-speed auto gearbox for this one? Or will they follow other Japanese car makers and go CVT? Or will they make it the same as CX-5 and have a 6-speed auto? The latter will be nice.

i believe the new mazda 3 wil make use of the skyactiv technology, so I think thy will go for the activemactic transmission coupled with the Skyactiv 2.0G engine

I like this new Mazda 3. And it should be the official production model. Another site has scoop photos of the production model undergoing testing. Take away the camo tape and you will see the shape and lines are the same as in this photo.

 

Definitely worth a look when it's launched officially.
