Debuts on August 21st

 

Audi has released new details about the 2014 A8, ahead of its debut on August 21st.

 

Set to grace the stage in Frankfurt, the facelifted model will feature new turn signals that consist of 18 LEDs in the headlights and 24 LEDs in the taillights. When the turn signal is activated, the diodes are sequentially illuminated - from the inside outwards - in the desired turning direction. Audi says this has the "potential to significantly enhance traffic safety" as the lights "provide a visual signal that can be clearly and quickly perceived."

 

Besides the turn signals, the model will be equipped with modified bumpers, a revised grille and new exhaust finishers. The car will also feature Matrix LED headlights which use 25 individual diodes to deliver the optimal amount of light regardless of the situation.

"potential to significantly enhance traffic safety" .....I don't see any problem with existing bulb type of signal...still as useful...the only issue is whether the driver use it or not..........marketing people are really tok kong... ...and people starts to believe it...

I would be confused. Even these bright rear hazard lights can be confused as brake light.

Indeed " draw legs on snake"......for quick lane change..... a flip of the signal stick will target a quick 3 flashes.....this design.....by the time finished moving from one side to another side.....I'm already in another lane....

By right supposed to signal for 3 secs before you can start your lane change right? That was what I was taught in driving school. Even if the next lane is clear already. I doubt the light takes 3 seconds to move from one side to the other.

If u signal someone will give way la. I always have no problem when I signal. Only when don't signal then no one give way.
