Btwl Clutched August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 Yokohama ADVAN dB decibel V551. Instead of 245/40R18, you might want to choose 245/50R18. The higher tyre aspect ratio can translate to lower road noise level. Cheers.
Imaginary 1st Gear August 18, 2013 Author Share August 18, 2013 Go for Michelin Pilot Sports,i think about the same price. Thanks for the suggestion. I read PS3 is more of a performance tyre though, so I suppose the GR90s would still be better in terms of comfort.

Zyklon 5th Gear August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 Very funny...ts asking for quietest tyre and people start recommending PSS and CSC5, not exactly quiet tyre. TS, maybe you can look at primacy 3 st or cinturato P7 too. Comfort based tyres. And please don't go for 245/50/18 when your tyres are 245/40/18. But you need to check for size availability.

ChickenMob 6th Gear August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 Yup agreed that higher profiles reduce the noise, but if current on 235/40/18 already left about 1 finger from the fender if I change to 50 will kena right? do I need to raise the coilover alittle to suit it? Roberttan 5th Gear August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 Looking for the most comfortable 18" tyres. Anyone knows what is the price for 18" GR90 now? Or any other recommendations? Mr Imaginary , kindly share with us your type of car /model and also tyre size you running now so that here can give you our views most car does not need Performance tyre like Porsche , Ferrari kind of tyre. We need Performance like Good Grip for both Dry and especially WET But also Comfort ride and Low noise And no compromised of Safety like poor grip and Longer braking distance for instance BS GR90 1 of the best in the my list. by telling us your car details will help us narrow down your confuse. for Example 1 is driving a Mercedes AMG E63 , I wont recommend you to use BS GR90 for sure the other 1 driving a Nissan Latio I wont tell you to buy Michelin pilot super sport (PSS)
Knoobie Supercharged August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 (edited) the overall diameter for your wheels should always remain. if you want higher profile of tyres, you need to reduce the rim size. Reason for this is because if you changes the overall diameter by too much, it will affect your speedometer and odometer reading. Safety may also come into factor especially if you changes to a tyre too huge that may grind against the inside or fender. Suggest you use the below calculator to do comparison based on your stock tyre size. try this calculator out - http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/visual-tire-size-calculator Edited August 19, 2013 by Knoobie ↡ Advertisement
