Just rebuild my engine with forged pistons and new bearings.

Do not track but enjoy the occasional sprited driving.

NSHW sometimes...

Some people telling too heavy weight oil might not be thin enough to lubricate the bearings, coz of the high viscosity...

Turbo u usually use 50 weight cos the oil gets very hot n 40 weight wil breakdown too easily.

Chk what is recommended by the manufacturer n stick to that is better. [nod]

If you dun track and just do some city driving and occasional blast...40 weight is ok. (off course try to use those more reputable brands (I have no experience with those Giant/ShopNsave oil...so no comments). No need for 50 weight oils.

I have been using 40 weight for most of the time...only when I go tracking...I use the 60 grade oil.

Invest in a good oil cooler is better too...as most oils will start to breakdown after 120 degree.

50wt for peace of mind on those nsh jaunts. If you have oil temp/pressure gauges you can monitor how the oil thins out as temperatures rise and your oil pressure drops.

yup ,

I will be using oil like motul, redline and the likes.

will be using high HTHS one.

my motive is will using a 40wt be better than a 50wt oil as the thinner oil can get to the bearings and small clearances better?

oil temperature usually ard 90+

hard driving ard 110+

have engine oil cooler installed.

thanks for all the replies so far

but what I worry is that I travel north very often from Melaka to Genting average speed of 120km/hr , not sure if long distance driving can use 40 or 50 will be a better choice.

For red line 5-30, HTHS is btw 3 - 3.3. Not enough in my opinion.

Motul, not sure.

What is the worry? There must be a balance btw performance & protection. In the morning after long drive, use dip stick to take some of the oil out of the oil sump & smell it. No burn smell is ok despite the oil loss.
