Johnwalk 1st Gear September 11, 2013 Share September 11, 2013 Anyone one suffer TMJ like me? I think this TMJ is the main cause that causing my neck pain and headache. Seen a specalist in NDC. He said I may be grinding my teeth during the night and ask me to make a night guard. The other way is to inject hydralic(sp?) acid inside the joint but he said it may not help much. So guys anyone suffer TMJ and fully cure? Be it TCM or western surgery. ↡ Advertisement

Are you definitely having teeth grinding? A dentist should be able to tell if your molars are getting grinded out badly. TMJ Dysunction is not easy to treat. But just make sure that is really your problem in the first place.

Donut Supercharged September 11, 2013 Share September 11, 2013 it could be a psychological cause than a medical cause for your problem. stress and improper sleep can cause you to grind your teeth during sleep.

I understand from my NUH specialist that there are only 4 such specialists in SG. No biting on hard stuff, no yawning loudly, etc... Yah, must wear the mouth guard. I wore it every night for a few years. Early this year, I wnet for my half-yearly review & finally got discharged liao... no need to go for further review becos the specialist is of opinion that the past 1 year already stabilized i.e. no attacks from TMJ -> can be damn painful when the pain sets in And also stopped wearing the mouth guard le... Sci10213 3rd Gear September 13, 2013 Share September 13, 2013 Wear mouth guard can recover meh? no need operation? If not serious, no need operation. Bascially my specialist explain that you need to relax the muscles around the jaw. This takes time. Operation is for those very serious already like jaw drop. If you follow the instructions e.g. change eating habits like no hard food, use both sides to chew, etc... overtime it will get better.

I visited several dentist but none could give me a definitive cure. So took neurofen everyday until one day it stopped. ↡ Advertisement
