Mits_jc 5th Gear September 13, 2013 Share September 13, 2013 A year ago in January, I was using tyres with 4311. In your case, whether it's acceptable or not depends on the storage condition of the tyres and the price you paid for. Not acceptable for me, but since you already installed it just have to accept it, if you didn't you would have already made noise there and then. Locknload 5th Gear September 13, 2013 Author Share September 13, 2013 Thanks Mits. I specifically asked the tyre shop owner if the tyres were new ones and he replied in the affirmative. Just miffed that this wasn't so as I had to rush off after fixing and when I just checked after midnite, being a repeat customer. I compared with TyrePac and theirs was similar in price after factoring installation and balancing.
Blackyv Turbocharged September 14, 2013 Share September 14, 2013 Technically, he ws right to say it's new since it's not used.. you should ask what's the age or how old? Take a look before allowing them to fix it up and reject immediately if tiu are not comfortable with the date... If me, I won't buy no matter how cheap.. but since the rice already cook, just eat it lor...
Cba6p 1st Gear September 14, 2013 Share September 14, 2013 (edited) It depends on your usage. If you clock <10k a year than the tyres expire way before the threads are finished... Edited September 14, 2013 by Cba6p
Blackyv Turbocharged September 14, 2013 Share September 14, 2013 It depends on your usage. If you clock <10k a year than the tyres expire way before the threads are finished... Regardless of dom and mileage, I won't use any tyre for more than 2yrs cause the weather here will degrade the rubber faster....., so I guess should be ok for day to day drive for 2 years... Coolpica 4th Gear September 14, 2013 Share September 14, 2013 Will not accept the tyres if it is me. Ever smoked by a staff at Stamfxxxd who told me tyres need to be transported via ships to reach Singapore so a period of 2 years from DOM is acceptable. Feel like laughing out loud when I heard this. Jq1988 4th Gear September 14, 2013 Share September 14, 2013 (edited) Totally unacceptable, if can get the latest the better! The quality of rubber has compromised by time, will u want a 2 year's old tyre when there are so many New tyres out there. Safety first and always think about your family!
