I was keen to go and have a look. But was put off by the price when I called them ...the SE quoted me $179k.

Strange the SE replied you in this way. I am sure Ford is not exactly a very popular brand and surely the SE will treasure any opportunities that come his or her way. Not sure what transpire but the SE should have explained further and entice you to go down for a discussion. But then again, if you refuse to even state your name or give your number so that they can follow-up then i guess no point explaining ....

Basically, I asked about the price, specs n features, just like anyone of us will ask when we needed to find out more about any new models. I even indicated that the price seems a little high. She did not mention anything on the promo n just told me the current version is a high spec one...there will be a lower spec version coming in at a later stage. Also, I was ready to give her my name and contact too...but to my surprise, she didn't bother to ask! Lastly, my conversation tone was a friendly one...JERICHOL, hope the above clarifies your doubts on my earlier posting.

What is so good about a ford kuga?

If you look beyond the badge, it's definitely better than Rav4 and CR-V in all aspects.

Ford is suffering from the same stigma as it's in Taiwan.

The price I mentioned can be done one.... in fact this is not the highest spec, seats are not full leather, no electronic seats and many safety aspect in new Mondeo not there too, think this is to lower the OMV.

I do find it nice...when compared to many other SUVs but the price is indeed v steep

I thought they are going for $158k? $179k is official listed price.

I would think $158k is a reasonable price. But again, have to go to see and test drive before first... ;)

Maybe with the rush to the various car showrooms over the last 2 days, they can easily fill their quota without trying. they would probably just make sure high bid for coe to secure the car. So high quote due to anticipated high coe.
