Oh oh, Thank you very much!

Seems like quite common having issue in A4...

Not say common issue, but you are getting a 10 years old Car,only can buy, if the Ex Owneryou know them, take good care, very low mileage like 50,000km,then can consider...if not, just forget it,get a new Korean Car will be much better choice.

get a coe C class. Safer and less headache.

Thanks for the suggestion!

If Lexus IS250 comparing to C180, which one require lesser maintenance?

I need to factor in the cost n maintenance since I am getting a COE car.

any car brand can be unreliable if you buy a used car and the previous as well as the original owner does not take proper care of the car....thats why if you buy used car best to buy from an owner you know ..or one with full agent service records....all this crap from used car dealer about 6month engine and gearbox warranty i dont trust(but thats me) [;)]

you pay much more for a IS250 road tax and more so after a few years.

maintenance is manageable for both. But the feel good factor has to be the 3 pointed star.

yes i am a badge whore.  :D

Can forget about checking mileage la... Likely get tuned.

My 7 year old at 160k was advertised at 100k km after I traded in.

Important is to check that it's mechanically road worthy thru an experienced friend or AA.

It's kinda no brainer that older cars need more maintenance. Plus you got to properly keep it maintained to pass car inspection annually, that means every year in case you haven't find out. If anything cannot pass you will LL have to fork out money to get it fixed.

all cars need proper maintenance, new or old. once a car past 3 years, must go inspection. im sure everyone does the usual things like oil change. so there really isn't anything special.

No issue with my 2014 A6 Avant for engine oil consumption. Topped up 1L oil after 7k km when oil dropped from full to 3/4.

Reliability, so far so good.

Only weak point on the A6 is engine mounting. One side replaced under warranty. Many others also had theirs changed during warranty. We are guessing due to the auto engine start/stop function. Have since turned mine off.

Do you go to a workshop to turn off the start/stop function? Does it affect warranty if car is brand new?

I had mine done by PA themselves.

I had mine done by PA themselves.ð No warranty issues.

U can also buy vagcom cable and DIY.

I asked my Sales executive and was told that I will need to turn off the start stop function outside as PA doesn’t do it.
