Lexus Is250 & BMW 320i are good cars,but a bit quite expensive if buy new,2nd option,is the Mazda 6 2.5L,the car came with 19" rims & hard suspension...very firm seats...good handling...

Twincharged

Lexus for me as well. Looks nicer plus 320i getting too common on the road already. Everywhere you go sure can see many of them.

I find the Lexus painful to look at.

Then again. 320 is underpowered.

A space shuttle is also underpowered. It all depends on who's driving it.

Not apple to apple comparisons when you compare RWD sedans with FWD sedan.

I would say the 3 series is still the benchmark to beat in its class.

I guess you must have done your research to narrow down to these 2 cars.

Power:

IS250 definitely has the advantage here with more power. 320 feels sluggish during 1st few secs on pick up but on sports mode, they can be really thrilling to drive. If $ is no issue, try considering a 32+ upper series.

Exterior:
Something is not quite right with IS250 front design. It looks like a hybrid between Audi + Mark X + something else. Really cant put my finger on it.
BMW on the other hand, just looks outright fierce and yet sleek.

Interior:

BMW interior feels solid and posh. Every little details feels like where it belongs.
Interior for IS250, having mix feeling again. It does not feel or look cheap but it definitely got this less thought out feeling to it. The seat design just look a little old school for me. The only think that stands out is the cool computerized speed panel. But try driving this at night, on a long highway, could effect your concentration. Maybe there is a night mode, (didnt test this part) where the lights turn to different color. BMW have this warm red which can be further dimmed down. Really easy on the eyes.

Add-ons:

There are a lot of BMW add-on availables in the market such as NBT, M performance kit, exhaust, accessories. Even the aftermarket add-ons are easy to find. Not too sure about IS.

I find add-on is somewhat important for a new car. It helps keep the car fresh for the next few years until you decide to sell it off. It helps calm the itch to switch to another car.

Conclusion:

At the end of the day, you should choose a car that you feel comfortable driving in the next 5 years and NOT choose the car because the other brand is too common on the road.

In fact, the more car of the same brand are on the road generally means that it is easier for your to get parts and supports for that car.

Just my 2 cents. Hopefully you will get the car that you are looking for. Post us some pictures or videos of the new ride. [drivingcar]
