Usual precautions aside, eyes on toddlers at all times as Jonkers and Dataran areas are, needlesa to say, crowded during the weekends.

Yes yes, this will be for sure. Thanks.

Excuse my Out of Thread,

Since many run up to old Melaka town, are any of you considering getting a place there?

Was at Suntec Convention recently and saw the Teddy bear museum hotel and Harbour City hotel launch. What do you think?

Just an idea. Perhaps a mycarforum lodge? Rooms or a house by town?

Cheers.

Hi,

I ever ate at one satay stall which is quite nice. I don't know if this is the satay stall you are refering to.

Sun May Hiong Satay in Jonker Street. They are hainanese and the satay sauce got pineapple inside.

Ahhhh yessshhhhh, this is the one, picture does say it all.

I remember yrs back there was a lady serving the tables, walk in big steps and arms swing broadly, always at fast pace even when it's not crowded. She doesn't smile but very quick in action.

Thanks Dleodleo for the site, will definitely go there.

For those interested to try out,

Call for reservation is highly recommended, the shop is always packed.

Second that. For those who intend/try ur luck to visit them without reservation on weekend better be there before 6pm. They are usually very packed.

If you dun mind 5-10 min drive away from the mahkotar mall area, can try a fairly new hotel call Swan Garden, just over the bridge after Holiday Inn. The famous 北栈 restaurant is just across the road from the hotel.

What facilities in the hotel are you look for?

You mean Equatorial, Hatten and Holiday Inn have been taken up?

If you do not mind the boutique or budget hotel, you can consider:

Fenix Inn (valet parking and got staff looking after your car 24/7). Opposite Equatorial Hotel. Simple room.

Hotel Puri (they have 2 private car parks - one is locked and the other is unlocked. Do ask for the locked one). Very nonya hotel. In jonker street and one street behind the jonker street pasar malam.

Others hotels that I have not stayed before:

Bala House (boutique hotel) - nonya hotel, some rooms has no window. Also located in Jonker Street.

courtyard @ Heeren (boutique hotel) - in jonker street. Cosy room.

Aldy Hotel (budget hotel) - located between Palawan mall and jonker street. Read that parking is outside and noisy at nite due to the band below. Located opposite the red dutch square and beside police station.

Casa De Rio (high end hotel) - located near the entrance of Jonker Street.

Go trip advisor and read the reviews before deciding. Try to book somemore in Jonker Street or Equatorial area. I usually stay these location, park my car there and walk around jonker street and palawan mall. They are of walkable distance.

Enjoy your trip.

Not too sure but lunchtime traffic into town may be bad.
