Common problem if you're not on coilovers is that your shocks or bump stop is worn out. The springs can last at least 10 years.

Go to a stockist, get the parts and then get a trusted workshop to help you install.

The problem is not the big bumps but the small undulating roads where the suspension rattle in other words those small even road bumps. Maybe it should be the rubber above the bump stop. The shocks are quite new.

The rubber is pretty cheap to replace so try that first. If still got sound, go see a "specialist"

why only zoom into problem on suspension ?

will it be other parts too ? such as lower arm bushing, and etc ?

Quite certain it is the suspension issue cos I made the swap from right to left and the problem persist.

the shock can swap from right to left and vise versa?

I thot left is for left, right is for right ?

this issue happen after you "do" something on the suspension or before ?

if you did some replacement what have you changed?

You can swap from right to left and vice versa. I bought this car with this problem of the rattling over small bumps. Tried changing many things but the issue is still there.

If yr shocks rattle over bumps n small uneven surfaces, likely the rubber mountings r worn n cracked.

Best to change them with yr shocks if shocks r long overdue for change.

If u recently changed shocks, then looks like u got to pay labour charges all over again unless u can tahan the noise till u need to change the shocks.

But the noise also means yr handling wil b affected.

Cud it b something totally unrelated to shocks is causing the rattling noise then?

Sometimes its hard to pin point where a rattle is coming from. Might just b some screws left inside by a lazy/forgetful mech.

Good if u cud drive over the bumpy road n get a fren to listen where the actual sound is coming from.

Even a pen or coin in the glovebox cud b causing the sound.

Neutral Newbie

Hello

Just want to come back to this topic.  The steering or suspension in my car is making groaning noises at low speed when warm at turning, and the front end suspension makes some click when over the speed humps.  I would love to take it to a good repairer who specializes in these kinds of front end issues and will let me get the spare parts myself (its a rare car).  Can anyone advise?

thanks

this is one very tricky issue n probably u need an experienced mech w a car stethoscope or at least a screwdriver based on some threads i've read.

i've been dealing wif this groaning noises but to not much avail - steering rack, shock mounts, stabilizer bars, lower arm ball joints, cv joints. somehow the noise will still come back although not as pronounced as before.. what i havent try r lower arms, subframe / cross member..

if it's clicking noise, you may wish to check ur cv joints (some youtube video available)..
