Expect CAT A COE will drop after CNY, so do home-work first before going to car market, kindly give your valuable input, [:)]

my major concern as:

1. Price reasonable

2. high HP and torque

3. Good FC

4. High Safety rating

5. Big Rear seat space

6. Big Boot size big (always self-drive to Malaysia)

7. High Reliablility

8. Low Maintenance cost

Only within my budget Conti is Volkswagen Jetta, but heard a lot problem, true?

Forget about Subaru, Mazda and Mitsubishi,

Subaru strong point is AWD and TC, normal Sedan FC poor

Mazda 3 low performance, high price, Rear seat space small,

Mitsubishi almost extinct in Singapore

forget about CAT B cars, its COE will shoot up to 100K also possible , not affordable,

I think koreans have stepped up their game. I drove an avante auto before and was surprised at it's drivability, notwithstanding the steering wheel alignment problem

Most Korean Cars are made & assembled in Korea … Not all Jap Cars are assembled in Japan … [sly]

koreans car performance wise, is good ,

but reliability, still doubt [sweatdrop]

I have ever owned Accent, Optra, after 4 to 5 years, problems never ending,

hopefully nowadays they improve much

Even so, my 1st option still Elantra

Sad to say, just too many i40 running around our island in blue and yellow colour.

Either Civic or K3 for me. But the Kia has style - outside and inside - and more power/kit/space compared to the Civic, and is also cheaper. Tough... have to drive them both. The last Kia I drove was a K9 a year ago and everything was great except for the gearbox - very slow...

quite surprised,

Altis is the most popular car on the island, but got the lowest vote,

Civic got the highest vote, but it's not popular

that's the thing

deep down, our heart says get a civic but the wallet and brain says otherwise

that's what we call "conflict of interest" ultimately, if money wasn't a problem, i guess the poll will shift towards bulls and horses

accent and optra belongs to the old "daweoo" style kind of car

hyundais and kias have some nice design cars, and some features even exceeds what the japs had offered.

it's now the japanese doing catch up. but one thing we can't deny is that most of our brains has been wired to accept that jap cars are of higher quality than the koreans.

Am surprised to see the civic leading the votes. this is obviously not what we see on the roads.

I know TS excluded the mazda3 in the votes but I saw the new one. its apparently 2k more than the new altis for the base version. definitely worth checking out. Also has a bmw like knob to control the settings from the LCD screen.

I still doubt Korean car's paper spec true or not?

I tested Elantra, paper declare 130hp, but realy cannot feel its different from Jap competitor

CAT A will not drop much, expect it to be around 65-69k region from Feb to April

1) High CAT B COE will make those considering a 2000 cc and above car to consider a 1600cc

2) AD may bring in some models to compete in the CAT A category. the audi A3 saloon is an example

3) the new altis is the evergreen favourite and BM will bid high to secure more CAT A COEs. As you know, BM is one of the major player in this industry.

can any one explain why Elantra is so low in the vote?

actually is my 1st option before, after the vote have to re-consider,

is there any hidden problem?

Can consider citroen c5 1.6 turbo diesel at cat A, price similar to altis...

worry about those unpopular brand got high maintenance cost,
