Winningeleven 4th Gear January 5, 2017 Share January 5, 2017 The Parf is the same as omv. Let say 18k. Due to cevs rebate of 5k. Your parf is 18k-5k =13k. End of 10 years scarp. 50% of your parf after cevs rebate = 0.5 x 13k = 6.5k

moonstone 1st Gear January 5, 2017 Share January 5, 2017 Hi, I'm a new Honda City owner. Have been driving the car for 1 month. I hope that this will be a comfortable and friendly site that I can visit frequently. I am happy with the car in general. Very responsive, spacious and quite adequate features. My previous car was the Nissan Latio, been driving for 10 years. The points that I think can be improved are the road noise (especially on rough road), no real aircon and build in GPS. Hence, I would like to have your input on improving the road noise insulation (change tyres? DIY on wheel arch insulation? ), Also if anyone has connect the phone GPS onto your HU screen, please share.

For the phone connect to HU for GPS, u need a cable to connect to HDMI. that's all. But to be honest, the HU is not safe to use as GPS. coz it's too low and not angled to your eyes. As for sound proof, I can tell u it's way better than the old city. Guaranteed plus chop. I'm not complaining abt the sound proofing. This city is more solid than before. U can try change tyre, but when tyre gets old, it will be noisy again. Edited January 5, 2017 by Jusnel
Lime0011 Clutched January 5, 2017 Share January 5, 2017 Don't worry about such things. Generally we don't even drive the cars until 10 years or beyond. By the 5th year, I bet u will be thinking of changing car already. Sure, horsepower might drop over years, but it will be many years lafer. Not 3-5 years later. And it won't be just because of the pistons wearing off. It could be due to other things like gasket, fuel lines, etc. My old city, I just drove off after start engine and the car was fine until its last day (10 years!). So if the old City can do it, I don't see why this new city couldn't handle it. The most important things u need to take note of (based on own experience) Don't rev the engine when it's cold. Like most ppl, we park at MSCP. let the car glide through the car park while u exit. This is good enough to warm up the engine. Don't turn on air con when engine is cold. I never do that to my old city. And my air con compressor is still the same stock original compressor. Never change or repair for 10 yrs. And it was still v cold. Many people have the bad habit of turn on air con immediately after crank engine and start to rev engine when they move off. They are just killing the compressor and the engine at the same time. BTW, this current city has faster warm up than earlier models. Honda has done something to the engine for its ability to get warm up V fast, which is true to my observation. I compared to the warm up time for my old and this new City, there is a difference. Thanks, great advice.
TEELEAVES 1st Gear January 6, 2017 Share January 6, 2017 yup. u r right. i just check on my city's parf. If i scrap it in end 2026, which is the end of 10 year COE, the parf is about $6500. Hi Guys, thanks for the PARF inputs and updates, :) i am looking forward to take delivery of my City in late Jan 17. Been driving a Mz3SP for the last 10 yrs too. i noted Moonstone comments abt not having a in-built GPS, but I am okie with no in-built GPS, cos i personally find external GPS or ipad easier and nicer to use: P am looking forward to better fuel economy (coming from an outdated Mz3), cruise control, and a lighter car, haha. Moonstone, btw, could U advise when U got delivery of ur new CIty a month back, what brand of stock tyres did they come in? I reckon it could be Bridgestone or michelin, I am hoping its the latter. Hope U can advise. Thanks again very much

Agree with Jusnel, i tried syncing my hp with the usb cable and the apps will run on screen, but its too low angle for my eyes and feel abit laggy on the screen. Instead, i used this http://gdetail.image-gmkt.com/119/716106251/2015/10/5b45ba39-3b84-4577-8ba5-31bdd2442b3c.jpg to hold my hp for my gps whenever i am going to places i am not familiar with. Sound proofing wise i feel that its not that bad, with the radio on, the outside noise is not that loud, even with out any audio, its still acceptable. Suppose that as the car gets older and when the sealant around the doors are loose then it would be bad.

Jusnel 6th Gear January 6, 2017 Share January 6, 2017 Thks Jusnel. I personally feel not worth to spend 300+ on paint protection unless there is confirm chop from the groomer that it will last for the advistise time. Keep me update on the result of yr groomer. Thks man. ok ,as promised, i'm giving feedback on this mobile groomer. https://www.facebook.com/LocalBoyMobileCarGrooming First thing first. after he wash off my car, i noticed my new city has some minor swirl marks on bonnet. This must be from AD. So take note that our new cars are never perfect. There will be some swirl marks from factory and what AD does is to groom it so that they won't be seen easily. After you do your "virgin" wash, you will see them So after this guy does his job of grooming, i don't see the marks anymore. I must say this guy has the passion for car grooming. He's one man show, doing this as part time, for 5 years already. Young family guy. This is someone whom i can give my support he has his own generator for powering the polisher. He knows his stuff. he took solid 3 hours to do my car, for $80. wash, polish, sealant and wax, interior, window coating. Look at his results. Mirror quality. Regular maintenance as per normal is required: wash with car shampoo. If you want to be more hardworking, can use spray wax and do a quick waxing. This should make the shine last.

However, if the GPS is ready for use, I would like to use it. I would think that the FC would be better than Mz3. If on highway smooth journey, the instant value showed 18-20 l / km !!. I would not say it is a light car, think around 1100 kg. This is actually advantage as it is more stable than light car. Somehow I feel that the steering is a bit light, but comparing with many, it is better. The stock tyre is Pirelli Turanza ER370, 185/55R16. I would prefer it to be broader at 205mm. Might change to this size for the next tyre change.

Does it slip off when cornering ? As for the soundproofing, cause I'm comparing with the latio, which Nissan is famous for comfort level, so it is noisier. If I'm on highway at 80-100km/hr, on rough road, it is very audible.

chiefdale 1st Gear January 6, 2017 Share January 6, 2017 (edited) @Juzsyah hihi, need to sync phone with honda system via bluetooth and also plug in usb cable, after the connection is done an addition icon like a > arrrow will appear on your main screen together with the usual interface of settings, info, audio, phone. Click on the > icon and you will see apps that can be mirrored from your phone to the screen. I usually use waze for navigation however, the system only pull google map and few other apps in the screen, did a test and didnt really like how responsive it performs on the system. Since then didnt use the system for this. @moonstone bought this phone mount from Qoo10, looks nice and within the box there is like a sticker to mount this onto the dashboard. Sometime like this when not in use. http://agdetail.image-gmkt.com/894/955/709955894/img/qoo-store.com/images3/B00RDQVPTY-7.jpg Not many knows whats that until its being used :) @Jusnel nice review on the grooming, but i did my grooming previously few weeks back when sent my car for servicing with KM, thinking since CNY around the corner, let the car have interior and exterior grooming by KM. Earlier KM also sent me via snail mail discount for grooming due to birthday month. Will keep note on this recommendation! My 10yr old Mz3 was on 205/55 R16. was looking forward to 185, actually, hahaha! Just for ur prompt replies.
