issit safe to have pre-fab unit for the high rise building that now almost all hdb are having 40 floor?

not sure about safety but definitely faster and cheaper to built.

I remember there was a time where construction site would proudly displayed outside their yard, zero accident rate to date.

Could it be that since construction company is not able to put in more people, existing workers are doing more duties and work long hours. As a result, accidents are more likely to happen

Safe for who? Flat owner or con worker?

This kinda thing I guess a strong gust of wind could have swung the pre-fab unit and hit the poor worker. We are having pretty cool weather these couple of weeks. Strong winds might have attributed to the accident at 19 levels above ground.

the problem is faster and cheaper development cost does not translate to cheaper housing

the cheaper the development cost, the higher the land cost ... one developer outbid another for land

= maximum profits.

Its also because they decided to bring them in 1st, then try to build infrastructure in haste.

last time our mrt also like that. Quality built.

construction worker is very tough life

Thats why in other 1st world countries, pay is easily >4k. ...not just for the crane operator.....
