Dont know about the reliability of the car, but as compared with altis, seems like elantra have fewer units being sold on the used car market. Although altis reliability proven good but there are so many of them on the used car market, thinking why?!

The Elantra SE and Limited sedans both get a 145-horsepower 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine, while Elantra Sport sedans, the Elantra Coupe, and Elantra GT all get a 173-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder.

We think the better bet is the 2.0-liter engine. It offers significantly better power, at the expense of only a moderate hit to fuel economy. Transmission choices are between a 6-speed manual available for the sedan and GT hatchback.

A 6-speed automatic is available for the sedan and GT, and oddly is the only transmission available for the sporty looking coupe. The automatic comes with an Eco mode to further enhance fuel economy, and manual shifting mode for a bit of added sport.

1.8-liter inline-4 (SE, Limited sedan)
145 horsepower @ 6,500 rpm
130 lb-ft of torque @ 4,700 rpm
EPA city/highway fuel economy: 27/37 mpg (manual), 28/38 mpg (automatic), 27/37 mpg (automatic, Limited)

2.0-liter inline-4 (Coupe, Sport sedan and GT)
173 horsepower @ 6,300 rpm
154 lb-ft of torque @ 4,700 rpm
EPA city/highway fuel economy: 24/34 mpg (manual, Sedan & GT), 24/35 mpg (automatic, Sedan), 24/34 mpg (automatic, Coupe) 24/33 mpg (automatic, GT)

==========================================

W/o an option of the 1.6 MPI for the new 2015 model, could this be the end of the road of Elan/K3 in CAT A?

This look more like for US market...

Ya, i forgot bout that. Esp so for Korean Cat A models, we always get 1 of the most watered down versions.

The US Accent already getting 1.6 GDI (138hp) with 6AT.

SG Accent, we get 1.4 MPI (99hp) with CVT.

Yet we possibly sell the world's most expensive Accent. Sigh..

Saw their advertisement in papers - targeted at the Pioneer Generation. :D

Not sure if PG card is required when booking one.

I'm in a dilemma.. Elantra or K3?? What are your thoughts on the 2 cars?

Both equally good.

Elantra better build quality and price $101,999

K3 better looking but higher price $113,999

I would choose the Hyundai and save the $12,000

:D

Thanks! I was quoted $103999 for Elantra Elite w/o any freebies (take/dont take loan same price) and the $103999 for K3 with freebies but must take loan.. That's why the dilemma. Hahah..
