Its seems to me, that those who are in power around the world, are insincere, deceitful, hypocritical.

They set aside rules, laws even democratic values when it suits them.

For the US/EU, it was ok for the democratically elected Mohd. Mursi to be deposed by the Egyptian military even though he was only 1 year into his term of office and during that time, the police just refused to keep law and order. But now he is on trial for war crimes :)

Again in Ukraine, these two players are fine with the overthrow of another elected president (a corrupted one he maybe) because of "people power". This people power have voiced their disappointment and the Kiev parliament have agreed so a democratic govt. has to go?

How about now in Crimea? That parliament has also voted to secede? Its not fine? Oh NOW its not fine for EU/US... well boohoo bitches. Go suck on a thumb.

For these guys, democracy is only fine if its someone they accept is the winner.

I'm with Putin on this. Screw the west for their hypocrisy.

They paid to get the legitimate President of Ukraine overthrown illegally and now scream murder when Crimea wants to secede?

Go Russia GO!!!

On a side note, Obama appears wimpy next to Putin, the Judo wrestling, bear-grappling leader.

Worse, some south-east Asian country leader ever appears more wimpy than Obama with his limp-wristed handshake.

Putin doesn't play by their pseudo-democracy script. US/EU are quivering because he has been trumping them with his calculated cool-headed moves lately.

This is to me is the biggest disappointment. I was sooo gung-ho when Obama won his 1st term. All the right noises, speech in Germany, Cairo etc...

Granted there was an issue of an impending economic doom but his team (Timothy Geithner, Bernaki, etc) have handled it well. They saved their auto industry, saved jobs, possible stopped a world-wide great depression.

But he's done fck all after that. He said he will close Guantanamo in a years time... still there after almost two terms in office.
He talks about freedom of press/information but his govt. goes after the whistle blowers who have revealed his admins shady activities.
He is a constitutional lawyer but allows his countries constitution to be trampled, the peoples rights taken away with that secret court.
Spent two terms building a fcking consensus for his health care program but the shitty websites still don't work properly.
Talks about terror and other countries sovereign rights but sends his drones daily into Afghanistan/Pakistan, etc.
Well... at least he is unwinding some of the wars.

another plus factor for him is more than half of Ukraine population are pro-Russia. the resistance from the population will not be strong.

Ask US try doing that to N,korea. Even Gen Kim is gone, the whole population of N.Korea will go against the US.

If Russia is successful, which former USSR country will be next?

Think there are all the "stunned" countries. Maybe they will sit up and take note of what's happening in Ukraine.

Uzbekistunned

Kazakhstunned

Turkmenistunned

Tajikistunned and Kyryzstunned

Apparently the U in USSR is meant as Uzbek.

The problem is that the pro-russia population is mainly composed of ethnic russians - mostly settled there during the days when the soviet dictator stalin deported the original natives to siberia and elsewhere... To me, this is the real lesson behind the events in ukraine... the dangers of having too large a proportion of foreign-origin residents in a country [rolleyes] Despite years of being settled in the ukraine, the ethnic russians are still loyal to their "motherland", retain their language and never really integrated.
