uictor Clutched June 9, 2016 Share June 9, 2016 Hi i would like to check regarding the COE. For example, i bought the jazz for 91999 and coe rebate is 43000. While going through all these coe bidding and it was not successful. If on the nex bidding, it went through with 53000 coe, do i need to top up from the 91999? Need advice. Thanks ↡ Advertisement

Thanks As far as I know for Kah motor no need to top up but if coe is $1 you also will not get 42,999 back I booked at 93,999 too last week and didn't get COE yesterday also. Dunno how they determine how much to bid for you. I wonder who does the actually bidding too cos i just found out that my friend's mom didn't go through the same sales as my friend. my friend got her COE on first bid. haha my getz was $30K 8 years ago but its a weekend car :) those were the days.... I hope i do not get hum tum but i find the black cover on the back bumper quite ugly.

Thanks If AD secures COE at more than $43000 for you, you dun need to top up the difference. It's like a bonus to you. But if the AD secured the COE at below $43000, let's say $40000, you will get back the difference of $43000 - $40000 = $3000. This is what it means by a COE rebate.

uictor Clutched June 9, 2016 Share June 9, 2016 Thanks richard and holee for the advice. So do they pay us back if the sucessful bid is below 43000? But at least in short, i do not need to pay back the difference if the coe is more than 43000. Right?

For Kah motor they do not pay you back if below 43000, for some other AD they might have to see their T & C if above also no need to top up Edited June 9, 2016 by ns330

That's not what Honda SE told me. If COE rebate is 43000 and actual bid is let say 40000, then Kah motor will minus 3000 from the final car price. If not they call COE rebate for what?

You are right the rebate will be given for that coe, once secure then its not valid

Fannz 1st Gear June 10, 2016 Share June 10, 2016 just my curiosity in buying a jazz cost $100k vs mini one cost $120k with depreciation of $8.8k and $11.5k a year respectively. the different in depreciation is $2.7k a year or $0.225k a month. does it make more sense to buy a small conti (jazz is also small) with better handling, performance and safety features than buying a jap? if you spread the additional cost over the next 10yrs into monthly base, than such cost will be very minimum for a car owner here. It's different feeling.... mini is a big go-kart and I guess the handling will be quite different from jazz. Yes, it's a life style car which means you will see your mechanic more often. Quite keen to get a mini too as I was told that the go-kart feeling is very shiok but my mechanic told me "alright, I will see you very often then". It's really up to the individual on what they prefer.
