Wiring all need to change. So just stay put. It used to be class A, AB kind of amp for SQ, and class D for monoblock, but am not sure how technology n design have advanced, seems to see some class D amps surfacing as SQ amps. Size could be due to design as well. Remember seeing very small class D amps from bewith more than 10yrs ago. All in all, no matter how much u spent on equipment, a badly installed n tuned expensive system can sound much worst then a $3-5k system.
