Hi All

Thinking of getting this phone to replace my S4 for a change of environment. Anyone here using it yet? How is the camera? The so-called ultrapixel camera in the original HTC One was the deal breaker for me. I wonder if there is any improvement....

Any comments/reviews will be welcomed!

If the ultrapixel camera was the deal breaker for the M7, it will still be the deal breaker for the M8.

I think the M8 is still for aficionados, much like the iPhone (any series).

Have you looked at the S5?

Was thinking maybe the Sense UI 6 is even nicer than the 5 on M7? And as I was saying, I just a but itchy backside for a change of environment.

Yes I played with the S5 - too similar to the S4 for to get it.....not keen on the new bells and whistles (heart monitor, finger print, etc). Even some of S4 functions (head tilt, air gesture, etc), I stopped using after the novelty wore out. And S5 still only 2GB RAM.

I think the Sense UI is quite good among the Android platform phones. IMO, better than Samsung.

Also, the Root UIs supporting the HTC One (M7/M8) are also quite good in making the best use of the UI and the phone.

Android HD comes to mind.

If you like to have a change, I'd say go for the M8. Unless the camera is a major deal breaker for you.

not using any of the phones you had mentioned but i used to have an old HTC Legend before my Note 1.

the HTC UI is nice. definitely better than Samsung's. So i would infer that maybe the HTC will continue to be nicer to use than Samsung. A colleague also mentioned that the HTC M8's stainless steel skin is wow wow wow.

but i would still get a Note 3 only because of the larger screen size which i like. did you ever consider the LG G Pro 2? Playd around with it. buay pai.

Yep I used Sensation and One X before. Also prefer their UI. Unfortunately their battery life super CMI, had a problem with the wifi (very short range) and the phone became EXTREMELY laggy after a few months of use....after that I swore off HTC and jumped to Samsung.

I had sony for awhile too but I don't know why I just didn't like their UI hence won't be considering Z2 either....

Ultrapixel is CRAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.

I'm using butterfly S, it's seriously sh!t camera. Everything else is excellent. If you don't use camera much like me, then it's for you.

Else turn to Sony Z2

I used to be butterly user, the camera suck. Now M8 user, better camera despite lower megapixel. Also, the 3D effect and dotview case are interesting.

Camera is ok for internet use. If need good photo I will use my Mark3 anyway.

Yes butterfly S using Ultrapixel. I think the HTC one (old), butterfly S, and this newest M8 are all using their ultrapixel. I think it's just a gimmik or i'm too moronic to use it. lol

I would say go for LG pro2.... I'm using htc one (m7) and wife using lg g2, if I'm changing phone now, I will take the lg pro2 for sure.... Or if can wait, nexus6 would be a good choice..

Btw, I'd just recontracted a s5 on Tuesday and sold off on the same day.. And heard the price is dropping already..heng I get rid of it quick.... . Hehehe..

If camera is your main deal breaker, you picked the wrong brand... Camera is never htc's strength....

Nobody buying Nokia arh? Last time, sell like hot cakes..... and everyone claimed it is more user friendly than all other phones.

With Win 8.1, heard its quite good.... itchy to try too.... but too use to Andriod already... [rolleyes]

Personally, don't like HTC.... the phone look nice, but don't like the UI..... Sony UI think better.... Samsung is good to use, but their design never change.... <_<

Never liked Nokia in the past also. Didn't find them more user friendly as many claimed it to be. I find Siemens and SE more user friendly instead. At least, no need to restart phone when changing language. I still cannot understand why Nokia until now still does not allow you to change system language without powering down even for their current smartphones. Luckily, their Windows keyboard language can be set on the fly without powering down. Otherwise, I can't compose a mixed text without restarting..... [bigcry]

The reason I switched to Nokia is Lumia Windows phone for its HERE worldwide GPS navigation and superb stability of Windows phone. Plus, it's a underdog phone now. [:p]

My Note 2 is very laggy after the OS upgrade. This lag issue seems to be a common problem in android phones.
