Hi guys,

Need some advise from you all.

I am staying in 5 rooms flat installed with system 3 aircon. Did not fix a unit in living room

Now I would like to have aircon in my living room.

Wanna check if HDB will approve 2 compressor in one HDB unit. possible to apply?

another option will be portable aircon which is not a wise choice.

last option, buy new system 4..... waste money cos my sys3 used 3years only.

kindly give comment, advise.

Thanks

actually better to have separate unit.

the system 4 may noy be enough btu to cool the living room.

getting a separate system 2 just for the living room is best

Thanks everyone for the reply.

yes little prince, understand that sys4 will affect performance if all on in the same time. so best to have seperate unit.

but hopefully 2 compressor can be approved. cos my HDB is those old generation which uses mounted bracket to hold the compressor.

Guidelines Governing the Installation

  • The running current of air-conditioner should be restricted by 20amps DP isolator or 15amps power point
  • Maximum of 2 split-type air-conditioner condensing units are allowed to be installed [ Note: The maximum weight allowed is 110 kg per wall panel be installed on the external wall or air-conditioner ledge]
  • For wall mounted air-conditioner condensing units, each wall panel is allowed to mount only 1 air-conditioner condensing unit

My current compressor is wall mounted outside my masterbed room and now intend to have one more mount outside my living room so should be ok?

I have email HDB but yet to receive any reply.

I believe you can ask your aircon contractor (the shop you order the new compressor aircon from) to settle this part. They are specialist in this line, and should know what can be done, or cannot be done within the HDB rules.

After all, if they can't do it, they can't do your business anyway....

Hypersonic

just calculate how many BTU u need per room.

In general its 50-55 BTU/sq feet.

U can use sqm to sq feet converter in google.

I use an inverter system 1 for my MBR. System 3 for living room + other 2 rooms.

THANKS FOR THE ADVISE.

Then in this case should be able to install.

Daily usage only apply to masterbed room, another 2 common room very seldom use.
